In some ways it's fortunate that we have WWII as a lesson because it makes it very clear what the risks are for inaction in the face of crazies. We can either stand up to them, or we can let them succeed, which is unthinkable.

Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like now if the Nazis had won. Not a pleasant place to live. And yet the price to defeat them was terrible - 70 million people died in WWII.

Bad as the Nazis were, I almost think the terrorists are worse. At least the Nazis weren't trying to shove their perverted religion down our throat. Both make me shudder.

I'm sure neither of us would be posting messages here. Or even own a computer. I could go on and on, but like you, I shudder to think what life would be like.

Actually, I probably wouldn't have even been conceived.

What the old media will not tell you is that the Baathist regime in Iraq was a direct descendant of NAZI Germany. All of Saddam's officers were required to read Mien Kampf.
