I'm so pleased you got to meet some freepers who are truly the best.
LOL!!!!
Down south they say "Dont make me eat rat now...."
.....Westy....
Hi!
As for the PICS, I've got about 2 rolls of film from the front lines. I've sent them to SNAPFISH and I'll post them all with a long winded story as soon as they are up.
As for the girl with the tape over her mouth and the statue of liberty tiara made of tinfoil....yes, not only did I see her , but she flipped me the bird about 6 inches from my nose because I wouldn't let her through the gate. My aid station was at an entry-egress point for the parade and the military CORDON types and the SS were in charge of checking passes and deciding who goes where. When asked for entry, my, "See the armband? I'm a doc and I have nothing to do with letting people through," worked w most. Not for her and her 3 cronies. They really have a sense of entitlement don't they?
Hanging around at the fence I did get to meet a retired NavyDOc that served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam (briefly in the early days). Nice man w some stories to tell. Delivered one of his own kids by forceps because he was the only Doc on call at that base at that time!
pinging you, tell me if I did this right.
Way to go Freepers!!!!! I heard if was -10 wind chill. I couldn't do it.
Welcome, Doc. Thank you and your medics for your service. We're proud of all of you. Your medics have good sense for wanting to hang with the Freepers.
"My cousin was a nurse in the Navy - first woman on a deployed carrier!"
I know the 1st woman in a all female aircraft mainteance crew on a carrier.
This was during the 1st President Bush.
1st women on board a combat ship.
This woman is a retired Navy Chief AND a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The same one I belong to.
oh my god, that made me laugh out loud.
Welcome to FR!
Welcome to FR, the best place on the web!
And there are many thousands more fine folks all over this great land like those great people you met in DC!
Hey, this is someone you need to meet, my friend!
thanks for the ping westy!
HEY SAILOR!!
I am that big handsome former Marine!
How ya been, Marine??
http://rescueattempt.tripod.com
NAVYDOC is actually a Former Marine who got out, used his GI Bill to go to college, and is now a Doctor in the U.S. Navy!
He wasnt with us, I wish I saw him!
Cool! My cousin's an anesthetist, and a big woman, almost 6 feet tall. She told the sailors if they gave her any guff, she'd put them to sleep and ... well, use your imagination :-).
Hope you stay here for a long time!
