WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Concerned Women for America (CWA) announces new research from the Beverly LaHaye Institute, CWA's think tank, which indicates that while abortion rates are on the decline, abortion is increasingly being used by older women rather than teenagers in "crisis" pregnancies.
This newly released report shows that women over age 25 are having the largest share of abortions. The data indicate that the number of women having repeat abortions is increasing (some four or more) and more abortions are being performed on women who have previously had a live birth.
Dr. Janice Crouse, author of the report and senior fellow of CWA's Beverly LaHaye Institute, said, "The demographics of abortion have changed dramatically over recent years. These data reveal that abortion is becoming a means of birth control for older women. Nearly half of all abortions today are repeat abortions, and 60 percent of all abortions are to women who have previously had a live birth."
She added, "Proponents of abortion like to portray it as a desperate choice of a young girl who made a mistake, but this study shows a staggering and appalling picture of experienced and worldly-wise women refusing to alter their lifestyle and using abortion to cover their reckless and self-centered behavior."

As observed here. (Very graphic.)

one abortion is bad enough and should be eye opening in and of itself........repeated abortions is just plain lunacy........

Demographics is destiny. Generations X and Y were raised in an environment where the abortion debate was very open and the pro-life side just as vocal as the pro-choice people. The impact seems to be that, while few young people support overturning Roe, most wouldn't personally choose an abortion. And that's a good thing, because as these self-centered baby boomers move past the age of childbearing, abortion rates will plummet, regardless of the law.

Some years ago an acquaintance of mine resigned from her position as a social worker in the county because she couldn't handle the requests for multiple abortions from the same individuals, and this was back before the Planned Parenthood over-the-counter on-demand revolving door availability. Guess nothing changes.

I can understand a young girl getting into trouble and panicing (no I don't condone it) but a mature adult woman using it as birth control....I've known a few woman who by any other means seem to be decent people but they had done this and I couldn't just get past that type of thinking.

I pray you are correct. However, I think these numbers have to do with "selective reductions" that occur from the multiple pregnancies that result from fertility treatments. Also, the advances in prenatal care now indicate if a child has Downs or some other less than ideal health condition, and some of these abortions by older women are done for eugenic reasons.

How many potential voters have been lost by the democrats because of abortion?

Oh my gosh....a voice from the past! Good to 'see' you Fro!
I'm not sure they really care about that angle. Nothing comes between libs and their abortion rituals.

"Proponents of abortion like to portray it as a desperate choice of a young girl who made a mistake, but this study shows a staggering and appalling picture of experienced and worldly-wise women refusing to alter their lifestyle and using abortion to cover their reckless and self-centered behavior." Either way it's murder.

This the Stealth Bomber that is going to zoom in under the pro-death crowd's radar and nuke them... once a woman sees what is really in her womb, it ceases to be a "tissue mass" and becomes... a baby.
Her baby.

You may find this of interest, but consider the source as well.

I wonder what part of Dr. Crouse's background one needs to "consider" as suspect. Her having been a speech and domestic policy writer for President George H. W. Bush? Her impeccable academic credentials? The fact that she is an author? Perhaps because she has been appointed by the current president as a delegate to U.N. conventions? Could it be that it's because she is the Director, Ecumenical Coalition on Women & Society? Is it because she is a woman?
Or could it simply be that she is one of those highly suspect "people of faith?"

For such an woman the truth is the only rescue ... the human being residing and growing in the woman's body builds ALL the tissues and organs of his or her body for life in the air world, and this amazing being then sheds the first organ he or she build for survival, the placenta and amniotic sac. The truth that the newly alive being in the womb does all the 'making' is the only sword I've found to cleave the lies of 'blob of tissue, nonentity' from such an woman's mind.
