Many of the Creative Coalition famous party-goers acknowledged that they didn't vote for Bush on Nov. 2. But, they said, they're not sitting around licking their wounds.

"Like it or not, [Bush] is the president of the United States and you can [complain for] the next four years or you can sit back" and be active, said actor Matthew Modine, who's been featured in movies such as "Full Metal Jacket," said.

Entertainers who passed through the media line reiterated that their involvement in the coalition isn't because of political ambitions but because of a strong desire to work on issues.

"I think it's more of a neo-conservative thing to be angry and bitter ... ," Hill Harper, known for his role as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on CBS' "CSI: NY," said.

Let me get this straight, the Hollywood elite bashes Bush and the republicans for the last fours years and they now want to be friends (so that they can push their anti-technology bills into law).

The Hollywood elite are living in a dream world.

As I told the Libs going through the gate at the parade. We protested Clinton at the White House and stayed away from the parade. All you Libs are just skunks at the parade and sore losers.

"Hollywood liberals could not be reached for comment on the cost of the inauguration because they were being fitted for gowns and jewelry worth millions of dollars in anticipation of Oscar night."

For anyone who'd like more steel-shank exposure of liberal hypocrisy, use FR's search feature. Enter "Coulter".

I could have sworn that when the Fox camera panned the crowd yesterday, at the inauguration, I saw Alec Baldwin. Did anyone else?

"We work from the center of the aisle and it's really important to what we do," actor, director and Creative Coalition co-director Tony Goldwyn told party guests before singer Macy Gray took the stage to perform songs of her own as well as The Beatles' "Come Together."

"This is a great platform for us to celebrate the arts and talk about things like funding for the arts, First Amendment rights; things we really care about [with] Republicans, as well as Democrats," Goldwyn said earlier in the night.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I think it was Stephen, the born-again Baldwin.

or you can sit back" and be active,

More brilliance from Hollywood. Although this is closer to Shut Up and Sing than anything they have yet to pontificate. Hollywood really needs some talented life script writers.

At least they are TRYING to get someting done for the good of the country.

So they claim.

I think it far more likely the "issues" they want to push, besides the cosmetic PC publicity crap, are things like blocking access to the beach through their Malibu property, or making music swapping a capital offense so that they can afford that next gold plated Porsche. Or Woody Harrelson's favorite, legalizing drugs (for his own personal use).

The truly committed in Hollywierd are few and far between.

Although I think he's one of the WIERDEST of the lot, Ed Begley Jr. has always been real about what he stands for and has lived as he has preached. He's a big advocate for public transit and non-polluting transportation and I know he rides the bus and bicycles as his primary means of transportation. Of course that's because his electric car didn't really live up to the hype.

Jonathan Lipnicki, who became famous portraying little Ray Boyd in "Jerry Maguire," added: "A lot of people think it's the rich directors and actors that are hurt but it's not just them ... it's also people with families to support" that get hurt when production work is outsourced. While the 14-year-old Lipnicki considers himself "nonpartisan," he said one issue in which he is particularly interested is stem-cell research; Lipnicki has testified before Congress on behalf of juvenile diabetes research. "I feel it's very important; it really is key to lots of success with diabetes and a lot of other diseases," he said.

Oh, this is rich. They get a 14 year old actor that is parroting the stupid adults that he lives around, and quote him like he is an expert on stem-cells.

As Carl the greenskeeper said,"I have to laugh...."

I think if it were Alec, he would have been gang beaten. It would be kind of like Custard's last stand. Stephen is a big Bush supporter.

yeah... right... why don't they take a cut in pay and funnel profits to the crew on the films..?? What a bunch of hypocrites.. then they want TAX BREAKS!!!! Why ?don't they believe in higher taxes...??? I mean it's all for the "little children".

What they should do in congress is tell the hypocritical Hollywoods that they will have a 10% ADDITIONAL tax surcharge on any salary, dividend that is made in the entertainment industry and funnel it back to fund the National Endowment for the Arts, PBS and tax "breaks" to keep the "jobs in America"..

then we'd hear them squeal like the f@cking hypocritical, lying sacks of sh#t they are.

Conspicuous by it's absence, is a quote by Ron Silver, one of the founders of the Creative Coalition. I guess you could define Mr. Silver as a vocal supporter of President Bush, he also, in no uncertain terms remained true to his liberal social policies. He understood if we didn't fight this war that was brought to us, nothing else matters.
I guess that's what separated him and Ed Koch and Zell Miller and the numbers of Democrats, even liberals who voted for President Bush. The ability to separate political ideology from national survival.
Those Republicans and Conservatives who supported Kerry, were simply, well who knows.

Yeah, I had to laugh at that as well. I'm angry and bitter. OTOH Al Gore, Ted "Make Mine a Double" Kennedy, and all the folks that make up ANSWER are happy, kind, peaceful, and well-adjusted. It's also interesting that Hill Harper contrasted being "angry and bitter" with being inclusive. LOL.

Here's the problem with the Hollywood Left: they live such cloistered lives that they often don't understand the concerns of the average American. As such, they often spout out remarks that makes you wonder if they even are American citizens.

When the average spokesperson for this group are the likes of Michael Moore, Sean Penn, Barbara Streisand, and Whoopi Goldberg, small wonder why Americans have a condescending view of them.
