Posted on 01/20/2005 3:22:49 PM PST by fishtank

Let's go!

This needs to be on the table.

Would at least one Christian minister who has the President's ear ---- give him an earful????

Yes go to both the Detroit News and Detriot FreePress news websites (search their archives) - There are dozens of stories - You ...

I thought so.

Some people have too much time on their hands, if this gets them all hot and bothered.

Hell, we get hot and bothered over all manner of things. You ever been on a BBQ thread?

Now, that's hot and bothered.

I can't believe some folks are getting so bent out of shape over this.

That's because we see the trend, the same pattern that has brought Europe into its current pathetic, polytheistic state.

I don't expect the president to be the national priest, yet he makes a sorry attempt at the position when he tries to synchronize the world's religions. With theology like his, I'd be happier if he'd not say anything about Christianity.

Yes, there are stories from both Sept and Oct 2001 - Like I said go to these websites I directed you toward and see for yourself -

I'm not the type to spoon feed those that are ill-informed. As I said the Detroit Freepress (lib rag) and Detroit News both had stories where arab Americans & Muslims where showing support for America and disdain for Al Qeade - Now if you are truly interested go read them - (but no, I will no spoon feed you like a child).

American muslims' deafening silence after 911 suggests something.

People have pointed out many times that the Koran advocates the killing of apostates, and when the mullahs in charge of intrepreting the religon get to say who those apostates are, well...no wonder more of them aren't vocalizing much against the jihadis that are giving them a bad name.

And...lest you forget, a lot of these countries that are producing the jihadis aren't exactly bastions of free speech, so how are they going to get a message of tolerance towards "infidels" out in the first place? They'll get thrown in jail, have fatwas issued against them or be killed.

I'm not trying to excuse it, just give what seems to me a rational explanation for not hearing from more folks. A lot of folks of ANY faith don't have the courage to stand up against zealots who kill without compunction or remorse...especially when those zealots have a lot of power. And the Muslims in America that are always getting the press are the ones that generate the most ink...why does the press (in any country!)always show the most extreme on any issue? Because it sells!!

I'm sure you'd be happier if no one said anything concerning Christianity (or any other religion) that doesn't conform in minute detail with what you want to be said.

What a relief for your friend.

Your absolutely right. He was very torn, contemplating the decision. On the one hand, Savage had plugged his place, which was less then a year old at the time, several times on the air. But, he was noticing people leaving each time he came in.

He mentioned the Koran because he wants to provide a tolerant moderate position for Muslims instead of the jihad option that is at war with us.

He mentioned it because he wants to emphasize freedom of religion. We can't expect it for Christians, if we are saying ONLY for Christians. This is a pivotal time for Christianity. I believe that is why he did that.

Face it, there are Christians who believe in peace and loving their neighbors, and there are Christians who fill trucks full of AMSOL and park them in front of federal buildings.

Which Christians are these that blow up federal buildings? I've never heard of a saved, regenrate beliver in Jesus Christ blowing up a federal building.

Only WRT politicians. However, the religion of FR lately seems to be Bushism, which is really a variation of inordinate party loyalty. And there are apparently many here who would be happier if no one wrote anything that criticized The Party or The President.

Savage is probably noticing his dwindling ratings, so he's appealing to the few hangers-ons. Those smart enough to see through Savage have long left him.

No, I will not face it. McVeigh WAS NOT A CHRISTIAN!!!

You are absolutely right!! But considering all the prayers that were said at the inaugural, isn't it just possible that the mere mention of other "books" will defuse thwe use of so many prayers? Sad to think Newdow has even that much say, but he and others like him are trying.

There are many of us here who would be very pleased if every thread on FR didn't degenerate into a tirade about Christianity.

Then I'm afraid that you're not paying very close attention. Otherwise you would notice the threads that criticize the President over his leniency in regards to enforcing our immigration laws and his inability to control spending.

I'm sure OBL has his "intelligence czar" trying to figure out what it was Bush actually meant, and OBL will tell us in his next video. /sarcasm

Gah. Getting sick of Savage. Since Rusty Humphries left XM, he is on CONSTANTLY. Three hour show, then the first hour repeated, followed by a couple hours of Mike Regan, then ANOTHER rerun of Savage.
He was entertaining for a while, but geez... And for the last few days he has been going on LEFTY rants! Talking about the horrors of pollution and the evils of eating meat. Being an Atkins dieter since Nov. '99, he almost ticked me off enough to turn off his show forever with his anti-meat BS. Never thought I would hear that kinda talk on America Right.

You can find a lot of bad passages in the Koran.

You can find a lot of good ones, too.

Muslims are going to hell, but I won't disparage their book just because you can pull a passage out of context that says to kill the unbelievers.

Are they free to worship as they please, or are they not?

Are they free to express themselves or are they not ?

If many posters had their druthers, the answers would be "No, 'cause they're Muslim."
