A HERO SALUTES

Casey Owens, a wounded Marine, salutes as his mother Janna Owens cries during the inaugural speech by President Bush. The president pledged to work to heal a country divided by the Iraq war.

"We have known divisions, which must be healed to move forward in great purposes, and I will strive in good faith to heal them."

Indeed, God Bless this man and those that continue to serve as well as those that have fallen!

This man had the guts, which is something that liberals wouldn't know if it slapped them in the face.

Even if we didn't have two Marine nephews, I would be praying for all our men and women in the military everyday. Both home and abroad.

"Another powerful picture of what heroism looks like... "

Yes, indeed. Dear Lord in Heaven, bless this gigantic hero and his loving mother.

Thank you Marine !

The President gave a great speech. My only criticism of the speech is that when he mentioned those who gave their lives in our nation's service, I wanted to hear another sentence for those who were wounded.

They really needed to vet the speech through me ...

that organization that sends the letters signed by Tommy Franks (i forget the name), I gave to them. then there is the one that Ollie North is part of (I forget the name). But none of the "big name" charities that collect alot of $$$s seemed to be plugged into any effort regarding the needs of US military casualties.

Thank you. It is truly amazing - THESE are our young people. God blessed us, and we must do everything in our power to be worthy of their sacrifice.

It's hard to know what to say in response to such a moving picture. God bless this young Marine, his courage, and his dedication to the cause of liberty.

Wow.. tears in the eyes, time. My gut reaction, seeing mother and Casey, was: This son of America made it home, thank you, Lord.

I was moved by the picture, but, really, the quote shown smacks of the leftist whines for "bipartisanship". Bush said much about not forgetting the sacrifices of our heroes, all in a good cause. Those should have been the sentiments, not some throw-away bulls**t line like "can't we all just get along".

I would prefer to show solidarity for this brave Marine by giving the one-fingered salute to all of the traitorous Democrats who fouled the air of this great proceeding with their stench! Sort of like an unreconstructed Confederate veteran giving the Rebel Yell and saying "Damn Yankees" till the end of his days!
