I love the bands--since I was a band member when I was in high school! I do remember marching in cold--your mouthpiece can freeze to your lips--just like a tongue to a lamp post! Not pleasant!
I was in bands too. I remember one Christmas parade, it was so cold (Wisconsin), everyone's instruments froze up. We all sang our parts. It was fun.
