Yeh. Kristol knows the Bush Admin is there for another 4 years. Kristol is playing nice, hoping to improve his stature with the 'in' crowd of this White House, after his months of criticism.

Much as I dislike Bill Kristol (and lots of people are aware of my many suspicions about him) I must also be fair and say that the speech genuinely moved him.

At the end of the panel before Brit signed off he was talking about how he and Peggy Noonan both have 19-year-olds, and that the section of the speech calling them to serve, to look to the military for examples of honor and sacrifice, was very touching, and above politics. He got all choked up when he was talking, and Brit had to rescue him.
