It is, but do you think the Iranian people deserve to be massacred?

"We recommend to the new US foreign minister to revise the wrong American policies, or at least avoid a repetition of previous mistakes such as in Iraq," Assefi said.

What a surprise. I thought that came from Babs Boxer (the one with chimney sweep hair per Laura Ingraham) and John (the sore loser) Kerry. Who knew Iran agreed with them? /sarcasm

I often think that when the Mullahs talk like this, it shows they have some sort of support some where!

If they do have support, where does that come from?
EU, Russia, China?!!

All of the above.

Bill Gertz, Treachery: How America's Friends and Foes Are Secretly Arming Our Enemies, Crown, 2004: Iran has received arms and weapons assistance from Russia, China, North Korea, Pakistan, France, Germany.

No people, ever deserve to be massacred.   It's never the peoples fault.   In Iran, it's the Mullahs, Clerics, and Ayatollahs that are in charge, supported by fundamental radicals.   Like in Iraq, a few controlled many.   Also, remember, their army fought a ten year battle with Iraq.   Can't be much of standing and willing army.

Iran is a major terror sponsor. However ripe for revolution.

The left always likes polls--witness today's UPI poll showing "majority oppose invading Iran"--

But the mullahs have support hovering around ten per cent.

Putting them right up there with a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, and being staked out on an anthill.

So their agitprop engine is running in overdrive.

Its all so easy, total blockade of Iran.....how long would they last, in power, without their oil revenues? I suspect, that our strategic reserves, would easily outlast the mullocracy. Sure, they be able to do a little smuggling, but, we'd have them on their knees in little more than a month.

If it ever happens...
Iran would be a totally different conflict then Iraq Different terrain, different logistic problems.   We have two ready advantages by being in Afghanistan, and Iraq.   The latter, are Iran's biggest fears, that of being pincered.

The best way to bring Iran down, would be an inside revolt.
Step back and furnish the arms and advice. No live bodies!!!

Iran's defense ministry on Monday announced that the US would not dare attack Iran, and that the Iranian defense industry had already achieved a level which could stop any enemy.

Hehehehehe. Wanna bet?

"We will rely on our popular support, diplomatic capacities and military strength, and decisively confront any unwise US move in Iran ...."

And, of course, our close friends in the U.S. Senate.

Live bodies are a must- someone has stirred the pot already. However, historically giving weapons to revolutionists has not always worked out for us.

Hmmm...Doesn't Pakistan receive advanced weapons directly from the US, since they are, as we all know, a staunch ally in the WOT ?

"We recommend the new American foreign minister avoids repeating past mistakes by reviewing America's wrong and unsuccessful policies of unilateralism and oppression," Asefi said of Rice.

Funny, Boxer said the same thing.

After seeing this same ole, same ole gum flapping by the Iranians, my response to this Hamid-Reza Assefi character is....time to mobilize the Viking Kitties, they'll teach him a lesson.

No matter which Islamic country is speaking, they all start to sound the same after a while.
