The plan to upgrade the United Nations complex at Turtle Bay involves putting a 35-story building on top of what is listed as a major terrorist target: the Queens Midtown Tunnel.
That raised concerns that the tunnel would become an even more appealing target for terrorists, who might bomb the tunnel to collapse it, bringing down with it the U.N. building - perhaps while it housed the offices of the secretary-general and other high-profile U.N. figures during the renovation of the Secretariat.
The proposed edifice is a 900,000-square-foot "swing space" that would accommodate Secretariat offices during the renovation of the main headquarters building and would be used later as consolidation space for U.N. staff currently spread across the city.

Here's how I think the new UN headquarters should look.

Ha! It is to laugh. The terrorists would never attack the UN building. I don't believe I've ever once seen or heard it said that the UN building is a target of terrorists. They would be hitting a little too close to home if they did.

Now if the UN food service could figure out how to use its own relief rations it would be a good thing. If it's good enough to serve the starving people through out the world it is good enough the the UN delegations. LOL

He doesn't have to drop his citizenship, that's an urban legend. But your point still is valid.

urban legend Are you sure?
I did not research it but have read many times (I know) that a member (citizen) of the Perm Sec Council cannot be the head joker.
Time for me to research?

I'm pretty sure that is a "tradition" and not part of the rules. At least one Freeper did the research and didn't turn up anything. Let me know if you find the actual rule.

There is a Turtle Bay resort on the North Shore but the infamous beach is Sunset Beach and sometime big ones come into Waimea Bay.

Just did a search in the UN Charter and turned up nothing on the Sec-Gen requirements. On a cursory glance under the layman's "Electing the Secretary-General" section...
How is the Secretary-General appointed?
The Secretary-General is appointed by the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Security Council. The Secretary-General's selection is therefore subject to the veto of any of the five permanent members of the Security Council.
<snip>
Although there is technically no limit to number of five-year terms a Secretary-General may serve, none so far has held office for more than two terms.
Take it for what it's worth, but I'm fairly sure that Clinton doesn't have to give up any citizenship.

Interesting reading, though. Especially on Annan.
Still looking......
