Public opinion depends on hysterics. Protectionists are using the terrorist threat in the same way Pro-Lifers use the spector of "back-alley abortions." Both issues simply take focus away from the real issue, which in our case is container ships, not our border with Mexico.
If you are going to make the charge that people advocating the securing or our borders are hysterical, back it up. That charge is easy to throw out but really it is nothing more than ad hominem debating tactics.
Some people can walk and chew gum at the same time. I am sure our government is capable of working both problems at the same time. Suggesting that because we have one problem we can not work on another is nonsense.
