CONDI GETS 16-2 YEAS. GUESS WHO THE TWO NO'S WERE!

It was pretty obvious that Kerry got Boxer to do his dirty work for him when questioning Condi. It wouldn't have looked too good for the MA Senator if HE had taken on Condi himself.

Disregarding her resume on foreign affairs and her known position on abortion (she's "mildly pro-choice") what is her position on taxes, immigration and judicial appointments?
Parenthetically it will never come to pass that Republicans will elect a candidate that is pro-choice, party activist will make sure of that just as the Dims will never nominate a pro-life candidate.

I am starting to think that many of these liberals are possibly racists. They always claim to be pro-minorities, but in reality, they are only for liberal minorities. Liberals ARE rascists. They PANDER for ALL MINORITY VOTES, but VOTE AGAINST ALL MINORITIES who ain't RATS.

George Clooney has not ruin anything: he's so nice that he can't!:-)
Teresa and John Kerry I don't know. They don't like to talk about their journeys in Italy and so do we.
I think that even Brad Pitt wants to buy a home on the Como's lake. Not bad...
May one day GEORGE W. BUSH will buy one... And it will be my best day...:-) Thanks for your compliment! You're kind, as all your fellow citizens!

She's not on the committee, I do not believe. At least she was never in the meeting that I saw, and I watched much of the hearing.

The Democrat Party is very racist but black leadership is tied at the hip with them and they follow like lost sheep.
The NAACP is one of the most racist organizations in America. They along with Jesse Jackson need the Democrat Party to blackmail and milk businesses and organizations for money. Most of this money is funneled to certain blacks who can keep the majority in line. The average black gains nothing personally from them.

Like Kerry, Barbara Boxer is also running for president. Barbara Boxer must be reading the DUmmy posts. She is currently their favorite for President.

OK, is she making reference to Kerry's manhood, Boxer's manhood, or is she saying, "I'm crushing you!"

It is a fairly simple syllogism concering Dr. Rice, America needs class and talent, Condi Rice has class and talent. Condi is the most qualified person to fill that position and she will. Dr Rice is an American, beautiful, proud and educated and serves as a role model for all Americans to emulate. I fell the same as you concerning this, "Great American Woman." NSNR

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh... That's bad!
Babs honey, could you explain your DSA membership and how it's not a conflict of interest with your elected position to support American individual freedoms as spelled out in the constitution. Yes, the constitution, you know that document you swore to uphold and defend.

Last night on the top-of-the-hour ABC radio network newsbreak, the ABC "info-babe" referred to Rice as the administration's "Secretary of State wannabe".

From reading Franks' book one can see that a top General's job is not unlike CEO of a big company; he spent time meeting his opposite numbers in other countries, building relations etc so the background isn't as narrow as it might appear. Condi has never run a campaign etc but is of great talent, I admire her enormously but IMHO one thing that may not sit well with many voters is that she's single.

I watched the end of yesterday's session, with Kerry making a fool of himself and wondered if he had an inkling that the woman he'd just grilled/insulted for more than half an hour might well be the next President of the US. There was something electric in the air. Afterwards, Condi graciously posed for photographs with many families in the chamber. She clearly can't wait to sink her teeth into this job.

**2 years from now...betcha.
You're on, mark the thread. Cheney will be there in the Senate four years from know announcing his successor. Put yourself in Bush's shoes. The last thing he wants to do is spend the last three years of his term in office explaining why he didn't really force Cheney to resign.**
I have to agree with you but I believe there are other reasons as well. Yes GWB would have a lot of explaining to do and health would IMHO not wash because Cheney has and is active both politically and in his personal life and has stated over the years his condition albeit serious if not monitored and treated is stable and well maintained enabling him to live an almost normal life.
Also as important IMHO GWB does not want Cheney to go anyway, the VP is his point man on the Hill; and a crucial adviser and friend whose opinion he values.
The main reason why IMHO Cheney will remain is that he wants to remain and see his political career out as VP retiring at the end of his second 4 year term. He has been a loyal and faithful VP to the President (almost unheard of in modern times) but then this is the reason for picking him as he does not have an agenda of his own not wanting to run for President. As it has been said Cheney may be the start of a new type of Vice President.
The other reason and may seem irrelevant to some and pure fantasy to others is IMHO his wife. Whenever you see her do a tour of the official VP residency on the Whitehouse website or on TV you get the sense of how she loves it and appreciates its history of course history is her life and her professional subject and when she leaves the place she will genuinely miss it, they have bought many of their own personal items that have been in their family for years and mean a lot to them as a couple to Washington to make it more it a more person home; this contradicts the public image of Dick Cheney and shows their is much more going on than you normally see. They have a very supportive type of marriage as strong as the President and Laura but different it is said that Cheney is at his most happiest and effectiveness especially when traveling if Lynne is with him. Bearing that in mind and that his body language shows that he wishes to please her she as much as him wants to continue for another four years she revels in and is a brilliant Vice President's wife. They thrive, relish and enjoy the political life style albeit very differently, the Veep very quiet and reserved; a dignified statesman whereas she is gregarious and lively but one gets the impression not only do they compliment each other as opposites but it really works for them not just a show. She knows he wants and needs both for his mental and physical well being the full 4 years years and likewise he appreciates that she does - a true working relationship.
IMHO Cheney will in 4 years announce his successor and retire from public life to pursue his fishing and hunting activities not to mention quality time with his grandchildren and his wife.
He is going nowhere apart from where Bush sends him in his capacity as the Vice President and crucial adviser to the President in the next 4 years. History hopefully will vindicate Dick Cheney and show him not only to have been a loyal and great Vice President but a true Statesmen and one of the most talented of Politicians never to have been President.
