SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declined on Tuesday to grant clemency to killer Donald Beardslee, setting the stage for the first execution in three years in the most populous U.S. state.

Beardslee, 61, is scheduled to be put to death by lethal injection at San Quentin State Prison north of San Francisco at one minute after midnight on Wednesday morning for killing two women in 1981.

3 years qualifies for a headline "First Execution in Years"

Give me a break.

California still does, kind of. Lethal injection is carried out in the old San Quentin chamber.

Savor this thought! While this killer is going to his final reward, just think of some of the semi-talented idle rich in Hollywood and of how they are handling a real execution! No question they could rationalize the killing of a Republican, Rumsfeld or Gingrich, for example, but for California to be executing a killer who may have had a difficult childhood must force them to pretend that they are outraged!!

Don't pop the cork on the champagne quite yet. I'm sure the legal obfuscators still have a few tricks up their sleeves. Anything to thwart justice and cheat the Reaper.

Yep, just delayed is justice denied.

I am shocked that Arnold would do this. But it is time, Cali needs to get moving faster.
