A lot of freepers believe that about the neocons, unfortunately. Some of them are led to believe it by the MSM but some truly seem to have arrived at that conclusion on their own.

The move was actually very smooth, and we're settled in up here in a decent apartment whose only flaw is that "insulation" apparently wasn't in the design specs when it was built. Right now it's 18 degrees outside, and the walk-in closet off the master bedroom (which is on an exterior corner, and we keep closed off) is 48 degrees! The cats are spastic as usual. :)
Richmond's western suburbs have just exploded since I lived up here last. In seven years the "frontier" has probably expanded three miles west of where it used to be and it shows few signs of slowing down. The city itself is much improved from ten years ago. There's still fairly huge areas that are (as far as I know) 24/7 no-go zones if you value your life, but like in Charlotte, they've done a pretty good job cleaning the place up. The murder rate is way down from the days when Richmond was fighting DC and New Orleans for the title of per-capita murder capital of the country.

I have now saved the Galt/Peach thread, the Galt is dead thread, in addition to the infamous Burkeman thread..Royal battles all! This thread brought back some good ones.
All well here ... it's James' birthday today! Cold, cold, cold. I told the kids it would snow today (so they'd stop asking ... don't know where they got the idea I'm a weather forecaster!), and it's not snowing, so now they're all annoyed with me. We'll have to go to the library or something!
