AMSTERDAM — Police in the east of Amsterdam detained a 43-year-old female motorist on Monday night after she killed a thief who stole her bag.
The 19-year-old victim was riding on a moped with a friend when they stopped beside the woman's car and opened the door to steal her bag. The thieves then tried to escape, but the woman reversed her car to cut them off, colliding with the scooter.
After the collision, the car continued moving due to an "unknown" cause and the 19-year-old was wedged in between the car and a tree. He died at the scene. The woman was then taken to the local police station for questioning, but police suspect the death was a "tragic accident", news service NOS reported.
Police sealed the scene off on the Derde Oosterparkstraat, but a group of male youths tried to get to the victim and started yelling and screaming.
The scene of the man's death was close to where filmmaker Theo van Gogh was murdered, allegedly by a Moroccan man, on 2 November last year. But this time the victim was a Moroccan and residents have accused the woman of murder.
The youth's intensely upset father also arrived on the scene, but two residents and police managed to calm the crowd down before it escalated out of control. The father was taken to the police station and given counseling by a crisis team.
Investigations are now being conducted to determine whether the woman caused the accident intentionally, constituting a criminal offence. The woman was still being detained on Tuesday.
The second youth escaped the scene and is being sought by police. But two males aged 15 and 16 were arrested later that night after being linked to the scooter used in the theft. The youths are suspected of being involved in other thefts that have taken place in the district in recent weeks.
Never saw that one. The one I do remember is where the perp was committing his crimes while naked (I think to prevent evidence) and is naked when Bronson catches him. The perp tells Bronson how he is insane and will be put away but will be back. Bronson replies "no you won't" and drills him.

Deliberately killing someone for attempting to steal a handbag would be murder, although I suspect that manslaughter would be a more fitting charge in American law. But it seems to me that intent would have to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt; otherwise, it is an unfortunate accident and the woman should be proof against criminal or civil proceedings.
I guess I'm missing it in the article, but where does it say the thief was Moroccan?
Nevermind, found it. I knew as soon as I asked I would look back and see it in the article and I was right.
I think I remember that scene right after it happened they cut to a group of the thugs friends who were all in tears because, "he shot the giggler". I cannot remember laughing harder at a scene in a movie for quite a while. Those thugs remind me of muslims.
I have read the comments , not one mentioned that this guy obviously did not decide to grab this purse on the spur of the moment. He has practised this for a while. No telling how many women he has ripped off. This lady just stopped a crime spree, the police should thank her, I am sure they have records of how many people this perp ripped off.
I hope he didnt lose consciousness until he breathed his last.

Purse snatchers are now victims. Well, at least one of them was scooted off to allah for a pressing engagement.

Too bad he didn't arrive in time to prevent his son from stealing womens bags. His son would still be alive.
I don't mean to sound harsh but this is just another Muslim loser who probably SENT his son out to steal from women. He is a coward and a bad father and I have no sympathy for him at all.
