Four men were charged with a hate crime Monday after allegedly knocking down almost 3,000 white crosses erected by local Christian organizations to symbolize the country's daily abortion rate.
The Hilltop Drive demonstration, in a grassy lot next to Christian Life Center, was vandalized about 3 a.m. Monday, project construction coordinator Steve Fitch said.
"They tore them out of the ground. They threw some of them over the fence and onto the freeway," he said.
A pager led Redding police to arrest friends Michael Lane, 19, of Redding, Clayton Heath, 20, of Anderson, Brian Fitzgerald, 20, of Chico, and Aaron Krzywicki, 20, of Santa Rosa.
The four were booked Monday at the Shasta County jail on suspicion of felony vandalism and a misdemeanor civil rights violation, Sgt. Roger Moore said. No more arrests are expected.

These guys should be made to watch an abortion at a local clinic.
Sadly, the "hate" crime is taking place inside the abortion clinic...
I'm not a fan of the phrase "hate crime", even when it swings our way. It reduces the gravity of what's going on at the abortion mill when it's only applicable to an act of vandalism.
Thanks for posting this, though. I'm amazed it's even in print.
Bet you these PC-Nazis were regulars at DhimmiUnderground and fomented to this...or took a dare, or a Soros contribution to do this...
Boys will be boys.
"I'm amazed it's even in print."
When it show up on the alphabet networks, THEN I will be impressed.
Otherwise, it's just another 'blog' in the night.
Barf.
Anytime you infringe upon a civil right it is a crime, period.
Why were these men so filled with guilt and hate?

Obviously these kids have not given serious thought to either the sheer numbers of the lives taken by abortion; either that or they do not care, and are angry to be reminded of it. But that said, I dislike that phrase 'hate crime'.
I thought that anytime you break the law, it is a crime. Call me old fashioned. This is destruction of someone else's property, which is a crime.
They would probably enjoy it and endevor to become aborticians themselves.
They pulled the same stunt here a few years ago to the display at a church here...don't know if they ever caught the bastards responsible.
I wonder how many of their siblings were murdered by their parents?
a simple vandalism charge will do.
Oh, and a murder charge for abortionists.
