We lived in CT for years and Dodd was our senator. He's as pickled as Kennedy; he had presidential aspirations at one time but got in trouble with women a time too many. Always in the company of Kennedy, naturally.
Oh, I see you remember that incident with Dodd. He's a piece of work.
I know you're computer time might be limited while on this professional retreat, so look for "cyncooper" on this thread for factual reporting. Condi looks composed, lovely, and even tho the democrats stick in little insulting zingers, their questioning is relaxed, almost informal. Everyone knows she's a shoo-in.
Of course.....the democrats will remind us.. ad nausum... how cooperative they were in confirming her, when they go nasty on President Bush's judicial appointments, and social security reform.
Dodd is showing his expertise in foreign affairs...
"DUH..."
Rice is terrific. Poised, informed, knowledgeable, charming.
The minute I heard Dodd say that this part of the world looks to the US for "leadership" I knew he was trolling for money, and by golly, I was right.
uh...dunno. LOL. That guy is soooo metro!
And the bloviation contiues.
It does seem that they are kinda softballing her... The Dims that is.
Is this a hearing for Condi or just an on-air opportunity for these guys to pontificate? LOL
He says Chavez wants a relationship with the US! Passing reference to "recent developments."
Is there a question in Dodd's statement somewhere?
Dodd thinks we need to do something new with Venezuela rather than isolation....soon Rice will get a chance to respond.
Dodd starting to adopt a hectoring tone.
Rice: Mexico and Canada-we've made a lot of progress with them both on a number issues. Smart border initiative, first item she mentions. Allowing in commerce, not allowing in those who would harm us.
But will he talk about the cheese in France?
Just like progressive means liberal, leadership to other countries means money. And the Left complains that we have code words.
CHAVEZ is one of the biggest DANGERS facing the security of this country..IMHO! Next he will be whining about our relationship with Castro! Good Grief!
So, what's the question? I lost interest in his ramblings.
I'm back. Tended to a couple of quick chores in order to hear sKerry's questions. I wonder if he'll be the one to try to skewer Condi? The other RATS are pretty subdued.
You are so correct. We will eventually have to deal with Chavez.
First we will have to 'deal' with the commie dems. LOL
Well, I'm not sure, but I think it was how much money can he count on to funnel to the tin pot dictators.
