Kerry Charges Disenfranchisement in '04 Election (Barf Alert)
AP ^ | Monday, January 17, 2005

BOSTON — Sen. John Kerry (search), in some of his most pointed public comments yet about the presidential election, invoked Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy on Monday as he criticized President Bush and decried reports of voter disenfranchisement (search). The Massachusetts Democrat, Bush's challenger in November, spoke at Boston's annual Martin Luther King Day Breakfast. He reiterated that he decided not to challenge the election results, but "thousands of people were suppressed in the effort to vote." "Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways. In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans (went) through in 10 minutes - same voting machines, same process, our America," he said. In his comments, Kerry also compared the democracy-building efforts in Iraq with voting in the U.S., saying that Americans had their names purged from voting lists and were kept from casting ballots. "In a nation which is willing to spend several hundred million dollars in Iraq to bring them democracy, we cannot tolerate that too many people here in America were denied that democracy," Kerry said. Voting irregularities in Ohio drove primarily Democratic challenges to the Nov. 2 election, but Congress eventually affirmed President Bush the winner by a slim electoral vote count of 286-251 - plus a single vote cast by a Minnesota elector for Kerry's running mate, former Sen. John Edwards (search).

Well John, could the long lines when Democrats vote, be caused by the way voters are rounded up and dumped at the polls by the bus load? Could it be because they do not take advantage of early, no excuse voting? Could it be that too many read and write so slow that it takes ten times as long for each to vote?

Or could it be that nothing you whiners gripe about, actually occurs?

"Just the beginning of a temper tantrum by a spoiled man playing little boy games. Maybe, just maybe, if we are lucky, he will hold his breath until he turns blue."

No he's more likely to put his fingers in his ears and start screaming, "LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

The only one who disenfranchises a voter is the voter.

Yeah really. And they couldn't find proof any one who wanted to vote for Kerry was denied the opportunity to do so. Jean Francois is trying to pander to the kook base for a 2008 run. That's what this is all about.

I believe that voters that do not exist and voters who voted multiple times took part in the last elections. To me vote fraud is just a bad if not worse than some people being excluded for questionable registration. The Washington state Govenors election stinks of fraud. A fair election works both ways. Kerry can go to hell and back to his rich lifestyle.

Yeah, and have you ever noticed how there is always a line outside the women's restroom at any large event while the men's room has none??? (Do you suppose there is a link???)

Is there no end to the squealing and boo-hooing by these people? Saw Jenny Bakus on Fox this evening and she still has her talking points down pat.....still has the startled look of someone just pinched in a crowded elevator, too.

The Democratic president(Clinton)/candidate's(Gore,Kerry) have no class what so ever. Just visited the Nixon library, Yorba Linda, CA Yesterday. I had to repent of all the bad things I had against, Nixon. 1960 Nixon/JFK election there was about 110K difference in the vote with over 60m votes and Nixon conceded. During Watergate, Nixon resigned as the charge obstruction of justice was to be leveled against him (same as Clinton) I changed parties in 1999 cause the Democratic Senator from, Nebraska (Bob Kerry)failed to do what is right.

Dis is da same trash dat appeahs from time to time to ensuah dat da negras know dat white fokes is oppressin dem.

Kerry is yet another voting rights pimp. I'm waiting for an honest analysis of the distribution of voting machines in Ohio.

I was thinking that very same thing. He is such a jerk. I am surprised that anyone is even bothering to listen to him anymore. He is such a poor loser. The Democratic Party should gag him. They will never win any elections again (God forbid!) if he keeps running his mouth!

Weaseling his way on all sides again. He stood down long enough for things to be "done". Now that its to late he'll be out trumpeting the far-left cause celeb.

Now he can claim he was once again "all things to all people" and wonder why folks seem to notice what he's really up to.

Do you think he would have the nerve after saying all this? Well, I guess I answered my own question. Ugh. He makes me sick. Thank God he didn't win.
