Kerry Criticizes Election Outcome At MLK Day Breakfast [Sore-Loserman ALERT]
AP ^ | Monday, January 17, 2005

BOSTON— U.S. Sen. John Kerry, in some of his most pointed public comments yet about November's presidential election, invoked Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy on Monday as he criticized President Bush and decried reports of voter disenfranchisement on election day.

Kerry, Bush's Democratic challenger, spoke at Boston's annual Martin Luther King Day Breakfast. He reiterated that he decided not to challenge the election results, but went on to say that "thousands of people were suppressed in the effort to vote."

"Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways. In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans sorted through in ten minutes - same voting machines, same process, our America," he said.

In his comments, Kerry also compared the democracy-building efforts in Iraq with voting in the U.S., saying that Americans had their names purged from voting lists and were kept from casting ballots.

"We're here to celebrate the life of a man who if he were here today would make it clear to us what our agenda is, and nothing would be made more clear on that agenda that in a nation which is willing to spend several hundred million dollars in Iraq to bring them democracy, we cannot tolerate that too many people here in America were denied that democracy," Kerry said.

The man that believes he is smarter than the President just admited Democrats are neither honest nor smart enough to complete the voting process without issue.

I think they should gather Kerry and Gore together, and allow us to watch the Inaugural through their eyes on Thursday. hehe

Yes, it it may have taken some votes 11 hours to vote. First, vote in New York, then get in a bus to Philadelphia,(4 hours) vote in Philadelphia then get in a bus to Dayton (7 hours). It is not easy being a left wing voter, it takes a lot of time. So be kind.

Yup, that's the ticket. In Democrat neighborhoods, likely with a Democrat election board and scores of watchers, they couldn't find any way to vote. Whooee, yer stinking up the place JFK.

``Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways. In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans (went) through in 10 minutes - same voting machines, same process, our America,''

Under full control of the democrats hoe they were allocated in their districs.

"Americans had their names purged from voting lists and were kept from casting ballots."

If convicted of a felony, voting in a district other than your own or dead, then, by law, you don't get to vote.

``In a nation which is willing to spend several hundred million dollars in Iraq to bring them democracy, we cannot tolerate that too many people here in America were denied that democracy,''

Where's your proof, moron?

I agree. I also think they should get a government sponsored wake up call the mornings of the elections to remind them that they need to vote. After, getting a cup of Government provided coffee, the bus will pick them up and drive them to each polling area.
That way the Republican suppression of dem. voters can be overcome.

Same story as always. Just laying the F*ing plan for next time to rally up the black vote , It is really sickening. Ï wonder when the Black folks will figure out they are being "played"

Never...if we don't tell them. Actually, I must rephrase...never mind just "telling" them -- showing them. Explaining how the economy really works. Explaining why tax cuts actually INCREASE tax revenue, and why tax increases (especially on the "rich") DECREASE jobs.

And the time to start (or start planning) is now, so that it doesn't look like it is some overly political thing. Sure, there will be some politics involved; however, let's see what this particular demographic, armed with the truth and an INFORMED vote, decides to do with its vote.

If they know that raising taxes kills the economy, and then they still decide to vote for the person/party that would do it, then--though we would disagree--they have done what the Left has said they've not had the opportunity to do, which is to have the right to vote. My suggestion is, let's arm them with the truth, and let them make their own decision.

end rant

And another thing. Aren't the Democrat voting districts run and operated by Democrats? If there weren't enough voting machines, who's fault is that?

In Columbus a democrat was in charge of designating how many machines each precinct received (I'm not sure about the other counties). But we can't really expect the dems to take responsibility for their own flub-ups...that would break tradition.

Agreed. Republican voters in Dane and Milwaukee counties (WI) were seriously disenfranchised! There are already reports of 10,000 illegal votes in Milwaukee County...Kerry only won Wisconsin by 11,841 votes!!

Not to mention we still don't know how many of the 73,000 or so same-day registrations (the 10,000 mentioned above are merely those who registered at the polls, filled out their registration cards with gibberish, and received ballots anyway) that were legible enough to have "verifying" postcards sent out 2 months late (state law requires them to be sent out immediately after the election, BTW) will come back marked "Return to Sender; Address Unknown". The Milwaukee Election Commission said to expect up to a third (that's 25,000 for those of you in the city of Milwaukee, Rio Linda, or Palm Beach County) to return in this manner.
