Anyone got any info about black Republican senators if there has been one? Sorry I've never known this.

Anyone got any info about black Republican senators if there has been one? Sorry I've never known this. There were several from the south during reconstruction. Plus in the early 1970s, there was a Massachussets Republican, I believe his name was Ed Brooke.

Was J. C. Watts a senator or a congressman? I've forgotten.

The last was Sen. Ed Brooke from Massachusetts. Served from 1967 to 1979, defeated for reelection by Paul Tsongas. He was the first black ever elected to the Senate by popular vote.

(Life is good. It'd be better if Jaime Pressly was here naked with a pizza. But it's still damn good.)
