Clint Eastwood has chillingly warned documentary-maker Michael Moore he'll face certain death if he ever points his camera at him. Picking up a Special Film-making Achievement prize for Million Dollar Baby at the National Board Of Review Awards dinner in New York on Tuesday, Eastwood urged the Fahrenheit 9/11 director to avoid making him the subject of a future project if he values his life. However, Eastwood - a staunch supporter of the Republicans - did admit he and Moore have a shared view of how American society should operate. He said, "Michael Moore and I actually have a lot in common - we both appreciate living in a country where there's free expression. But, Michael, if you ever show up at my front door with a camera - I'll kill you." And when Eastwood noticed the audience had erupted in laughter to his threat, he emphasized, "I mean it." However, Moore's representatives insist the comments were intended as a joke: "Michael laughed along with everyone else, and took Mr Eastwood's comments in the lighthearted spirit in which they were given."
I thought Clint did it in jest. That was my first take on it.
Interesting.
Mikey could actually have the starring role in his own snuff film.
It doesn't confuse me. I made the comment because someone made a comment about how if you are pro-life you should also be against euthanasia which is just silly. I was trying to point out that being pro-life does not necessarily mean you must ALWAYS be pro-life (i.e. capital punishment). Obviously my sarcasm escaped many readers...
I lost a little bit of respect for Eastwood after heing about his being a Republican...he was originally a Libertarian, & I thought that's the party he was a member of when he was the Mayor of Carmel, CA.
Say it ain't so, Clint!
I thought he ran as a LIBERTARIAN. Does anyone know fer sure?????
....& John McCain, Jim Kolbe, Andrew Sullivan, Olympia Snow, Susan Collins, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Bloomberg, Rudy Guliani.....
Yeah, REAL limited government/traditional values conservatives, like these folks!!!
Comon Mikey, you no scared, point the camera at the punk! Call his bluff, make his day! Seriesly!
I'm not so sure if I would put former Rep. Bob Barr in the class of Libertarian...he was one of the worst, most blatant Drug Warriors to ever grace the Halls of Congress: I admire him for his dogging of President Clinton (I just bought his "The Meaning of Is" book, & it's been an enjoyable read so far!), & I agree w/ him on about 98% of the time, but his draconian Drug War views are outrageous!
oops! My duh.
You bet'cha! I'm proud to say that I'm "pro-death" when it comes to using capital punishment against the worst of the worst criminals who have been found guilty by a jury oif his/her peers in a court of law.
Drew Carey's a Libertarian too! :-)
BTTT
Thats pretty good! lol looking forward to seeing it in a theater near me!
I really do wish that Clint had remembered to say "do ya feel lucky, punk?" after threatening Moore like that in front of everyone there.
An opportunity missed.
I'm always a little confused by Eastwood. He had an interview with a woman's magazine and he said, "I don't even own a gun."
In another interview at his home, he was twirling a Ruger Super Blackhawk.
I suspect he's a businessman selling his image to which ever fans he has at the time.
Yup.
Hmmmmmm, Clint doesn't sound like the type to kid around, if he says something, I'm hanging on every word and believing every word!
I was impressed with Clint's threat to MM. But then saw him for a few minutes on Charlie Rose last night. Looked older than his 74 (?) years, with facelifts; senile. Seemed really out of it. Fuggetabout Clint. IMO.
"Flinch" Eastwood is a tough talker...and that is about it
