If the line has Pittsburgh +2.5/+3, my nod goes to the Steelers. This game will come down to the wire.

Dillon is back, who didn't play in the earlier game. He's running well. The game stays on the ground in trench warfare like WWI. Weather won't be a factor at all in this one.

A field goal decides it making it a one or two point game.

My AFC winner is... New England.

Coming off of a high and full of confidence in holding the #1 offense in the league to only a field goal, the Pats are the team.

Belichick and friends will gameplan Roethlisberger just like the Jets did. Cowher is not stupid. He won't leave the game in his stellar rookie's hands. He'll ride the Bus. He did that against the Jets, and still damn near lost.

And the Pats ain't the Jets.

Mr Sweatshirt, about the only part of his gameplan that never changes is what he's going to wear.

With respect, that's not well-informed. The Jets offense scored 3 points.

Very true. But the Jets did move the ball, did they not?

I guess I hadn't heard that stadium name before because when they mentioned it today my first thought was--Oh hell no---no team with a stadium of that name should ever win!!!

"A field goal decides it"

In that case, Pats win. Vinateri is the best clutch kicker, perhaps of all time. Lou Grosa, George Blanda, Adam Vinateri... Hall of fame.

For Pets sake, go hug a tree or something. Geez....I'm so sick of hearing that Dillon was out for the teams first meeting and yet no one has been able to tell me of any running back that has put up any big numbers against the Steelers. The pats played a team that can not play outside of a dome in cold weather that also has a horrible defense. Peyton was the absolutely most over-hyped QB in the history of the NFL. It was nice to see the Colts wither against a team witha respectable defense. From a historical perspective, the Steelers will probably choke because Cowher is a conservative "play not to lose" coach, but I think they have a great shot at knocking you guys off next week.

The big difference here is that Belichick is so much better a coach than Cowher. ---

You're right about Belichick being brilliant and much smarter than Cowher. But, Cowher is a little older now and has Russ Grimm and TWO GREAT CO-ORDINATORS this time!

It should be a GREAT game! These two teams are quite alike!!

From your post to God's ears.

Football played inside is not football.

WAA WAA WAAH! So Dillon didn't play the first game. BFD! What running back has put up any big numbers against the Steelers D? Hmmm?

I'm not arguing for NE. I was pointing out that he was not in the game in Week 8. He will be next week.

As far as big numbers, when the Steelers met the Bengals for the first time this year, Johnson gained ~126 yards. As far as I can tell, that's the most that a running back ran for against the Steelers.

And they have a player with a sound-alike name to boot (Hines Ward). Too much Heinz for me.

That's what Bill Polian and the Colts are hoping!

Pat's special teams and defense are among the best. I look forward to at least a couple of scores from them. ---

You had them three years ago in Pittsburgh. Not this time!!

That's deceiving. That game was over fast. The Steelers were unstoppable, playing at their absolute best, and the Pats had no running game that day. What happened in that game will have no effect next week, just as the Steelers game against the Jets during the regular season wasn't at all like their playoff game, and how the season openwer between the Colts and Pats (which the Colts could easily have won, but gave away) was nothing like this game.

I don't dispute this. My point is that good teams have bad games. Both Pittsburgh and NE have had bad games. We'll see what happens next week.

Here's hoping for an injury free game that's close and settled by the players, not the refs.

May the best team win.

I picked the Pats for the game, the Steelers against the line. Maybe he can get past that 47-yard barrier that no one has been able to beat at Heinz Field.

That's a solid analysis, except for the result. I do not expect two key turnovers from Roethlisberger next Sunday...that won't happen. And those turnovers weren't great endeavors by the Jets defense, they were thrown directly to Jets defenders by a QB hampered by inexperience and f***ing mittens. Without those two turnovers, the Jets were not competitive: 17-10 would have been the likely outcome.

I'll take the Steelers, both as a hopeful homer and as one who takes a realistic look at his own team.

Funny, both in PA. They cheat at elections and perhaps they cheat at football? ----

LOL! We steal signs too, and goo up the ball when the opponent has it, too!!!

Heinz Field is Heaven to the Steeler Heathens. LOL!
