Ooooooopppppppppppppssssssssssss...right you are;I was dead wrong.
Wes and Hack both stink and I guess my mind just melded them into one.I saw the face in my mind's eye and attached the wrong name. Many thanks for the timely correction of my ghastly error.

I agree.
Graner is an idiot, he was wrong, he brought shame to the Military and US and should be punished, BUT a 10 year sentence is the result of the MSM's agenda not the actual crime. The same MSM that has been against the war in Iraq, against GWB and FOR kerry are responsible for the 'magnitude' of this story and shame brought against our military and hence the magnitude of Graner's punishment.
That kind of abuse goes on everyday in prisons around the world including right here in the USA, but never receives such attention from the MSM and in most cases goes unreported by such. But in this case it was a clear opportunity by the MSM (CBS, Rather and Mapes went after this with a fury) to use this against the Military and ultimately the war in Iraq and GWB and for that reason Graner had to be a scapegoat for more punishment than his crime deserves.

You really just want attention...don't you. Pity that.
You brought up the Geneva Conventions and guess what? Graner wasn't tried under them. You lose again!
To: Getsmart64
You were CRACKED long before you ever joined FR. I had nothing at all to do with it,sweetums. ;^)

Leavenworth....and I don't think there's alot of muslim terrorists there. I'm all for his punishment...i hate that his actions (and those of his "girlfriend") gave the MSM so much ammunition...and brought so much disgrace on the American military!

Hang your heads in shame!
You remain silent while Hanoi Kerry betrays our troops to our enemies.
So when you wake up in the morning,
and look in the mirror,
before you go to the US Senate,
or to the TV or Radio studios,
know that you did nothing to remove this traitor.
Well REAL Americans know what you did NOT do!

This is NOT about panties on anyone's head.
The AMERICAN MILITARY HAS NO JURISDICTION OVER UN PEACE KEEPERS;THEY DO OVER THOSE IN THE MILITARY OF THE NATION!

Three such TFMs should be given to the subject over 12 hours, with the subject not having anything to eat prior to the first TFM for several hours. After four hours, the subject will become agitated, depressed, angry, and impulsive. He obviously must be heavily guarded and possibly restrained. Over the next eight to twelve hours, his symptoms will increase, becoming suicidal. Subjected to a TFM diet over a period of several days, he will become fully psychotic. Four hours? I doubt it. This article is probably just poorly written. I'm sure this approach is promising but I doubt it would work that fast. Doberman approach is faster.

"You made statements and asked questions that were couched in stupidity,as though they bore facts.
Lots of times,it's far better to just read threads, than to post to them...you'd learn more. :-)"
Do us both a favor.
Genius (LOL) talk down to someone else.
I'll make as many statements as I like and ask as many questions as I please. None of my statements or questions were "couched in stupidity". Only your reply to me was arrogant and "couched in stupidity."
Others respectfully answered the question I had. As for my statement no one appeared to disagree or I would have seen a reply on that as well.

So it's okay for any of our military personnel to do whatever they feel like to anyone living in Iraq or Afghanistan, because members of al Qaeda or other terrorists do terrible things?
You're clueless!
Just WHAT has Graner's insubordination and pimping have to do with heads being cut off? Did he pimp his girlfriend to his pals and put on sex-shows,because Daniel Pearl's head was cut off in Pakistan?
To: TexKat
Yes,there is and has been for a long time.

Go back up this thread and read it. You're either lying outright or have a terrible memory.
And as for what you do,if you choose to keep making a fool of yourself,I shan't stand in your way, dear. :-)
To: MEG33
Yes,you did and thanks you for doing so.
If the uneducated keep choosing to post garbage to this thread, well,I guess that's that. At least some of us got the facts up too,so lurkers won't walk away from here thinking that every FREEPER is an idiot. :-)
To: nopardons
I'll explain my position more clearly.
On a personal level - I have no problem with what they did over there to those animals. Could care less. It wasn't torture. It was humiliation and I have no problem with it. The style was a bit strange and warped but it is a prison in a war zone and strange things happen.
However the military must instill discipline and ensure proper rules of engagement. So the soldiers should be punished for that. A year is more than enough for what they did.
Now on the political plane, these soldiers embarrassed the U.S. and gave our enemies and the world fodder. They should be punished for that as well. That is really what most of the 10 years is all about IMO.
