Just WHAT has Graner's insubordination and pimping have to do with heads being cut off? Did he pimp his girlfriend to his pals and put on sex-shows,because Daniel Pearl's head was cut off in Pakistan?
I'll explain my position more clearly.
On a personal level - I have no problem with what they did over there to those animals. Could care less. It wasn't torture. It was humiliation and I have no problem with it. The style was a bit strange and warped but it is a prison in a war zone and strange things happen.
However the military must instill discipline and ensure proper rules of engagement. So the soldiers should be punished for that. A year is more than enough for what they did.
Now on the political plane, these soldiers embarrassed the U.S. and gave our enemies and the world fodder. They should be punished for that as well. That is really what most of the 10 years is all about IMO.
