I was in Baghdad for 15 months with 1AD. I spent some time in Sinai before and have traveled to/through Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar.
This part of the world is plagued by a massive problem, “ignorance”. Ignorance makes the people easy to manipulate. A lack of good information combined with a low threshold for violence makes for problems. There is a relationship between how dumb and violent they are. They do not see the world as the West does. Once in the US or in Europe an Arab will quickly demand his rights, but in their country as a Christian Westerner you can’t demand for any rights. It’s a one way road, and most don’t hear that in the MSM. In some Muslim countries you can go to jail for just discussing religion.
60% of Iraqi adults can not read or write Arabic. Iraq is better off than Iran. They shoot at US MEDEVAC Helicopters because they were told that those helos with the red cross is the "Christian Crusader". No joke they believe this! The US’s main enemy in the Middle East is shear stupidity. People who are easily used by someone like a Muqtar Al Sadr or Hamas in this big chess game.
