Athens --- He's been called a slimeball by sorority girls and taken a beating from an angry husband.
But Bill McCoy, a polite production manager for "Girls Gone Wild," said he and his company are just misunderstood.
"People think that we are just horrible people," said McCoy, 25. "We certainly don't make anybody do anything they don't want to do."
McCoy and a three-man film crew from "Girls Gone Wild" rolled their giant tour bus into Athens Wednesday, capturing University of Georgia students and locals willing to bare their breasts to earn tank tops and trucker hats. Footage shot during the event could wind up on one of the dozens of raunchy "real" girl videos the company puts out each year.
The visit marked the third time in a year that a crew from "Girls Gone Wild" has filmed in the Classic City. This time they were visiting to plug their naughty pay-per-view halftime show that will air during the Super Bowl.
A crowd of about 150 people --- mostly guys --- partied inside Annex, an 18-and-up dance bar, as the "Girls Gone Wild" camera guys filmed away through strobe lights and teeth-jarring dance beats.
Throughout the night and into the wee hours of Thursday morning, about 15 girls made their way to their party bus parked outside to lift their shirts for the camera. Crew members prefer to have the girls flash in private, away from the ogling eyes of the dance club.
After checking IDs and asking a series of questions aimed at avoiding lawsuits, the guys led them each to a back bedroom on the bus to show their stuff.
"I just thought, 'Why not?' " said 18-year-old Fiona Read, a UGA freshman from Maryland. "You're only in college once."
Her friend, Michael Thomas, a junior from Athens, rolled his eyes.
"I have a bad feeling they'll regret this in the morning," he said.
McCoy insists that crew members "don't induce nudity." But women over 21 are welcome to partake of the free alcohol on the bus before or after their shoot.
UGA freshman Casey Spivey hopped on the bus around 1:30 a.m. with his friend, Jessica Reynolds, a 19-year-old sophomore who quickly disappeared to the back room.
Spivey, a San Antonio native majoring in biology, said he thought it was "cool" that Reynolds decided to mug for the camera.
But if the tables were turned, would he pose for "Guys Gone Wild?"
"No way. My family would whip me," Spivey said. "I was raised better than that."
After spending 45 minutes in the back of the bus, Reynolds emerged flushed and smiling. Dressed in a tiny tank top and jeans, Reynolds was reluctant to say exactly what she'd done on film.
"Let's just say I had fun," she said.
As she made her way to the front of the bus with her new "Girls Gone Wild" hat and tank top, she stopped and turned around with a request: "Don't tell my dad."
"People think that we are just horrible people," said McCoy, 25. "
No just the morons that consent to be on this crap. We live in an age of no shame.
They even have topless grandmothers now, mad!
I doubt it. What parent would want their daughter to do this? No respect on the daughters part for herself or her parents.
Ping!
Hahaha...not true! I've dabbled in going to college many times :-)

Yeah, these folks are nice people - LOL!
They load em up with alcohol and exploit them. Real nice people. Now even her Dad can see how stupid she is.
Supply and demand - McCoy is a businessman. He provides people what they want. It is a shame.
Don't worry. One of her dad's co-workers - maybe even his boss - will see the video some day and tell him. ;)
Maybe that's because you are horrible people. You and your crews have taken advantage of more than one underage girl.
Never heard of it
until you said it, but, yes,
Guys Gone Wild is real:
How about "Gorillas Gone Wild"?
"Don't tell my dad."
"I don't want my dad to know that I'm a cheap slut who'll strip on camera for a measly tank top. I'm sure he, or anyone who knows him, won't see the video or read the AJC."
What do they do, lift thier pant legs?
The guy that owns GGW is a real slime ball. Read an article one time on his antics and he is the typical dirtball.
Over here....
youre only in college once Somehow I think they are missing the point of college.

Only in college once but their foolish behavior on video, print and dvd's for eternity. Hopefully when they marry and have kids in the future their future kids won't have to see this trash or get introduced to it by jeering teasing classmates. I've seen where some women(moms) have big regrets doing stunts like this now. Some get blackmailed too. Tragic
For tank tops and trucker hats? Geez.... At least, the girls who work strip clubs make a fair amount of money.
