CHRISTIE WHITMAN: (GOP) PARTY POOPER
NY Post ^ | 1/14/05 | Eric Fetterman

Posted on 01/14/2005 2:14:58 PM PST by freespirited

STARVED for attention after a dismal stint as President Bush's Envi ronmental Protection Administrator — which itself followed a mediocre six years as governor of New Jersey — Christine Todd Whitman has penned a manifesto to radically remake the Republican Party and send it hurtling leftward.

Predictably, the national press can't get enough of it: Newsweek featured a lengthy excerpt from the still-unpublished book, presumptiously titled, "It's My Party, Too: The Battle for the Heart of the GOP and the Future of America."

Just as predictably, conservative Republicans — who don't think the future of their country, let alone their party, rests with Christie Whitman — are less than impressed.

And with good reason.

Because what's clear from this book is that Whitman, who proudly insists she is a loyal Republican, doesn't really like Republicans all that much.

Which is why her book tour, The Washington Post reports, will take her to Washington, D.C., New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois and California — all John Kerry states.

Indeed, Whitman complains that President Bush, by playing to conservatives, missed an opportunity to add more blue states to the GOP column. But at the loss of how many red ones?

If you ignore her long enough, she'll go away.

Who cares what Christi thinks. She's yesterday's news. Too bad she threw away her chance.

The best thing that Whitman ever did was to give Barney to the First Lady. She should go home and shut up now.

Ms. Todd-Whitman has been out of D.C. long enough to get a grip. She's failed to do so.

WHAT is this woman doing with an (R) by her name in the first place?? Oh that's right -- (R) in this case means "Repulsive RINO."

Given that she's been a fraud since Day One, of course 'pro-choice' Crissy WOULD much rather "play" to the abortion-mill crowd.

Democrats freak out when they lose.

Republicans freak out when they win.

Whittman is a spoiled, silver spoon RINO in the Bloomberg/Pataki mold. The NY/NJ area has more RINOs than an African safari.

The lamebrain was counting on Dubya losing the election and she riding to the rescue.

Hopefully this dumb book and her dumb self will disappear from the political scene.

She's a two faced backstabbing traitor.

She wrote the book, kept the premise to herself and actually held a $25,000 a head fundraiser for Dubya with Laura Bush as the honored guest at her home about a month before the election.

She was a terrible governor. Her only claim to fame was that she wasn't Florio. And that says nothing much.

She should move to Canada with the rest of the disgruntled, fleeing RATS.
