If you were a juror of Spc. Charles Graner Jr.'s trial, he's accused of abusing Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib, how would you vote?

Convict him of all charges. 6 (46%) Guilty of some of the charges. 3 (23%) He's not guilty, he was ordered. 4 (31%) Total Votes: 13

TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Foreign Affairs; News/Current Events; US: Texas; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: abugrabbu; freep; graner; news8; trial
The libs who run this news channel should have included a 'none of the above' option. There should be some interesting comments from the liberals participating. Fire away, FRiends!

What exactly is the value of polling the uninformed electorate as to what should be done in a criminal case, anyway?

This guy is for certain guilty of fathering a child with that hideous skank Lyndie England. IMO That in and of itself deserves the severest punishment!

This is worth doing, particularly because of the opportunity to provide comments.

Oh, I don't know. I don't know where you get "uninformed electorate". Most adults who read the news have formed an opinion, one way or another about this case. Of course, a large part of the electorate in Travis county are unwashed hippies who want to see Spc. Graner fry in the electric chair for his "crimes".

There should be a choice for just "Not Guilty".

That would be my vote.

'Uninformed elctorate' meaning people who are not involved with the case, impanelled on a jury, presiding over the case, or whatnot. The opinion of the rube on the street, particularly in a mindless internet poll, should be irrelevant.

Graner is, apparently, an odious dimwit. But why should my opinion be worth soliciting in regards to his case?

Gotta a problem--don't think he's guilty period. Don't need anything else attached.

Not as far as I know. Fraternities have done worse things to their pledges than the "crimes" he's convicted of.

My comments:

Even though it offends some folks sensibilities, I think that we should be able to be very forceful with these prisoners. What ocurred was not torture and all the howling about it is partisan politics and a blatant attempt to hurt the current administration no matter how many extra troops get killed, how much comfort it gives to the enemy, or how much more peril it puts America and her citizens in. I find all this to be much more disgusting than anything we could possibly do to these prisoners.
