He supplies a lot of seed money to get the film societies up and running--and those festivals don't make much money, but you have to have festivals or nobody sees your great work of
art. For instance, there is a little Hollywood in Austin, Texas, and the creative director of their film society made an anti-Bush commercial. The Soros Open Society provides lots of money for hopeful and generally deluded "filmmakers."
What's also enraging--these way-left film groups also manage to lobby local, state and feds for money to support this "industry" which is supposed to provide all these creative jobs. We're paying for leftist agitprop.
I say, let Soros foot the whole bill.
