A secure data sharing program can be very expensive, but c'mon. It's the time that's wasted more, not the money. They need to have something in place yesterday.

Science Applications International Corp is so politically connected, it ain't even funny. SAIC & The DOD & The Pentagon, among others, are connected via revolving doors.

They need to get rid of false promises from client server techno geeks with purple hair and go back to the basics.

Yep. Toss in MQSeries to tie it all together...

I know I have a floppy somewhere that boots Linux and will let me break into any Win 2000/XP system that exists. I think MACS haven't been hit because they are not in use that much yet.

For serious stuff, NSA uses Crays powered with Alpha (DEC) CPUs.

"I am frustrated," Mueller said when asked about the software at a news conference in Birmingham, Alabama. "There were problems we did not anticipate." Investigations showed the FBI and other intelligence agencies failed to share information that could have helped stop the hijackers from crashing four airplanes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon (news - web sites) and a Pennsylvania field.

This is just INSANE. I'll tell what started this NON-Sgaring of Info/Intel. Go ask Jamie Gorelick about it. Janet Reno's bestest buddy. The History books will be filled with Clinton's inadequacies, and truely diasterous failures on all fronts. I am sick to death when I hear a LIBERAL speak of Bush's performances, before they start throwing stones they should take a long hard look in the mirror. Can you spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E.....

That was mostly tongue-in-cheek. A good data modeler would be good, however. They'd probably take her out and shoot her afterward...lol (teasing!).

The software is already outdated and inadequate,

Ignorance prompted that evaluation. Nothing written in the last two years is "already outdated"

The FBI designed a elephant and build a mouse, nothing new in government work.

Well-built software isn't. And we know that software is only as good as it's user(s).
