OK thank you for your reply of substance. So...this does make sense in a strict Old Testament reading of the Bible...however in light of the New Testament things change. I don't think anybody can honestly say that Jesus (himself a victim of it) would be in charge of the Death Penalty. Quite to the contrary if Jesus were with us today he would be on the front lines of protests AGAINST the death penalty. To this extent Sister Prejean is trully representing the intentions of Jesus by offering unconditional love and forgiveness to all, even those guilty of the worst crimes.

And also those admonitions that are from the Old testament and REPEATED in the New Testament are still valid - those that are not repeated are no longer binding (sooo, we get to eat lobster....)
