I think this is well said and agree to some degree. But, actually, we all are in this position and act on it all the time. If this were true we couldn;t choose to criticize the dems or anyone.
There is room enough for all of us under "the big tent", and I see no rhyme or reason in name calling and jockying for power and position.
Yes. My reaction is that I see a huge hostility toward WND and Wildman and a stereotyped groups of "fanatics" that is exactly what you describe here.
For example, WND merits criticism, as does anything, but they were there in the trenches and have had a significant effect in helping the Republicans gain majorities and checking liberal power.
I think the people vociferous on these threads are doing exactly what you lament -- not the other way around.
I see hysteria in the denunciations of WND and on this topic.
I'm actually glad they have Wildmon as a scapegoat. They can just resort to the politics of personal destruction and attack the messenger. No logic required. Just smear and slime.
The problem with all of this is that people are attacking each other personally with all of this...we don't need the Dems for that anymore, it seems. We're too busy bashing each other to try to come up with a reasonable compromise that makes everyone happy, if not entirely satisfied. But that's what compromise IS, and unfortunately, a lot of people that "our little group" have a beef with is the fact that so many of them appear to want all or nothing, and we appear the same way. Everyone is just digging in and fighting back.
IMO, it's wasted energy we should be using to kick the stuffing out of the Democrats!! Those are the folks that need to be taken to task for imposing their will through judicial activism and other sneaky methods to promote their agendas. They know by now that they can't win in the court of public opinion, so they're doing end runs around the Constitution, and state laws to accomplish their aims. It seems in some ways that a lot of people on our side of the fence (conservatives) are advocating the same approach, which I think is unwise in the extreme, and appears hypocritical. I love our country, and I don't want ANYONE to pervert the process to achieve what they want, no matter how noble it may be. I'm sure the Dems think what they want is noble, too.
*shudder*
