Excellent article. Thanks...

What the article says is true, but I like to look on the bright side.
When the time comes for CWII, all we have to do is burn the cities.
All the surviving moochers will then eat each other in the ruins.

Loved your dead on description of our overpaid, home grown and dangerous apparatchiks. Your story said it all.
How do we root out this disease?

The fools!
Words, words, and more words; and they still don't get it.
The higher the population density, the less freedom you have.
Where would you and six other people be more free:
Having the entire state of Montana to yourselves . . .
Or the seven of you packed into a lifeboat in the middle of the Pacific?

A nice article. It sounds frightening like the current Labour Party of New Zealand. The 1980s reform-minded Labour Finance Minister Sir Roger Douglas remarked back in 2002 of the current clawing-back-to-socialism Labour government,
http://www.act.org.nz/item.jsp?id=22221 "The extremists of the Left, spurred on by powerful vested trade union interests who funded and organised their campaign for power, will take every step they think they can get away with to unstitch the reforms of the period since 1984 and return this country to the divisive socially and economically unjust policies of this country's low-growth past. Not least among them are the public sector unions determined to preserve and protect traditional state monopoly services in the education, health and social sectors.
To restore special privileges to unions in the workplace over all other bargaining agents, they have to persuade people, against the grain of all past history, that union officials are not going to put abusive pressure on workers who prefer individual contracts or that individual contracts are anti-social, and pressure is justified on 'scabs'.
You will see this Government using the full power and authority of the State to persuade people that, just as pigs can fly, less flexible arrangements in the workplace will improve the ability of small businesses to lift their earnings and increase the incomes of their staff.
The additional free-loading encouraged by Labour, the Greens and the Alliance will harden social attitudes against the disadvantaged. The people Labour says it wants to help will all be worse off by 2002 than they were in 1999.
Labour still fails to understand incentives. They think earning should be punished, and failure to earn should be rewarded. That approach, over time, impoverishes everybody. "
Of course his words were ignored by most New Zealanders and here we are, with a slowly dismantling of the 1980s reforms.
From the current trend, unless the liberal Coalitions run blue American metropolises to the ground and force IMF bailouts, nothing will stop them at the cities (of course they will not regain power nationally).
