No, wouldn't equate the two, Clinton was a dog, we loathed him in the military. Then take care too in calling him an idiot. He is smart enough to have himself surrounded by equally smart specialists. Border issues are for another thread.

I signed up on FR the day after you did, but I think I've figgured out something that you haven't... there's a certain decorum to follow here, and violators are shown the door (i.e., ZOTTED) rather quickly. You need to ask yourself, are you on FR to have a meaningful discussion, to have something worthwhile to say, and to follow the rules of the forum, or are you here just to bash Bush? If the latter is your only reason for posting, then you need to prepare for the onslaught of the Viking kitties...
Mysto, that is an excellent post and advise for any new Freeper to read and follow. Worthy of a repeat post here.

I'll watch my words when everyone else learns to watch theirs. Well, calling President Bush an "idiot" is probably poor way to introduce yourself to the thread.

No problem. It's obviously a deeply troubling matter and my heart goes out to you. My brother and his wife work for the DOD a few miles from the Pentagon. They lost a couple good friends in the attack.
They get irately pi$$ed when they hear the conspiracy theorists suggesting it was a missile attack and not a plane. Their favorite rebuttal is: "How did a missile clip off all those utility poles on it's approach to the Pentagon?" I think that attack will haunt them both forever.

But can we be so sure of that? That was before CNN and the U.N. wasn't even there to verify it or distribute oil for food money.
Very fishy . .

I think it's called 'kissing butt'. As long as you kiss butt, you'll be allowed to post here.
Sorry, never learned to kiss butt to get along. I think for a living.
I may have chosen poor words to describe my feelings about some of Bush's policies, but I'm sure every single one of you is guilty of that, so if you want to have a site that caters only to the blind followers, by all means, do a DU and lock out everyone who doesn't bow to Bush.
To: Stringfellow Hawke
Actually, with your post you sound just like the DemUnites.

Maintaining a certain decorum isn't the same as kissing butt. Sure, we all overreact at times and say things that are out of line (I've done it myself). I just don't think that stepping back, reevaluating, and saying, "Hey, maybe that didn't come out quite right." is the same as kissing but.
I'm a newbie here myself, but Meek is an old respected member. He's also a great guy. I'd at least hear him out.

Listen, I don't agree with EVERYTHING that Bush has done, either. But signing up here barely a week ago and then calling Bush an idiot and some of your other posts on this thread isn't a good way to ensure you will be allowed to stick around here.
When CFR was being debated and was moving through Congress, I campaigned HEAVILY to STOP it and sent e-mails to Bush, Cheney and others asking him NOT to sign it. But he did and life goes on. But I didn't call him an idiot either here on FR or ANYWHERE.
That post was a bit of "friendly" advise. No one here expects anyone to "kiss butt". When you're in someone else's house do you trash the place? It's really up to YOU if you stick around here.
Just my 2 cents.

Entire towns where I can say with assurance 10,000 to 15,000 people lived had been virtually ereased without a trace save the outline of house foundations. Yes. I thought the numbers would be increased before this. I read here on FR over a week ago about the town of Baloola(sp) with a population of over 140,000 being gone. And that's when the 'official' count was at 140,000 for the entire region.

Yes, I guess it was confusing, since I was talking about the Cole and blaming Bush for his 'free for all immigration policy' in the same paragraph, if I recall. Okay, then! I'm not so slow-witted now, am I?

"The numbers are real, and almost certainly on the low side of real."
I think the estimates were low in the beginning, and will probably be lower than the actual as the government wants to maintain control. "It's not that bad... we can handle it... we are the protectors of our people... we are in control... etc."

I may have chosen poor words to describe my feelings about some of Bush's policies, but I'm sure every single one of you is guilty of that...Actually, one of the wonderful things about a forum such as this is that we have the luxury of reviewing our work before we post. I, for one, make a living of choosing words carefully, so please beware of generalizing about the literacy, years of military service, or motivations of folks who post here. For the most part we manage to have civil discussions and (as recently displayed on this very thread) resolve disagreements in a friendly manner. Not every issue can be resolved with force or stubbornness, but these traits should not be confused with resolve, which can make one very patient in the face of adversity.
