Two different articles in this case, but why on Earth do so many people here feel compelled to act as Posting Police? Has to be one of the most annoying tendencies I've ever encountered on an Internet board and I've been participating in them since way back in the Prodigy days. SHEESH.

You said IT, MM! I too often why it's sooooo necessary for others to jump right on some poor innocent soul who happens to post a duplicate/related article as one already posted. Where that "compelling impulse" comes from, I'll never understand! SHEESH is right!
It bugs the heck out of me when posters feel the need to act as police on the threads.
I do think the practice evolved from the early days when people tried to save bandwidth, but all the same, it's gotten out of hand.
Amen to that, I always make sure to post to a post from the posting police.
Because we are tired of seeing the PR bandwidth clogged with repeated posts about the exact same incident. The Sky and BBC articles were basically the same and added nothing new or relevant to the story.
