Well, the Royal Family ARE more German than English -- their real surname is Saxe-Coburg-Gotha --> they had changed it to Windsor during WW One. They are the descendents of the Hanoverian Electors -- the first two kings (George I and II) of the dynasty didn't even speak English, the thirds (George III) was crazy and lost America, the fourth and fifth (George IV and William the IVth) were wastrels, the fifth (Vicky) was a recluse.
