To relate to your point...The Producers is a very funny, successful and long running show. People realize the characters dressed up in Nazi regalia are part of the act. Only prudes are offended by the show.

You are correct, political correctness can go too far. One must separate the image and content to the context. Dress up parties are fun.

Due to Hitler's use of it, it has been PC-ed into an evil sign.

"PC-ed"? It IS an evil sign. The idiot wore it with a German uniform so please don't tell us he really meant to be wearing the ancient sign of whatever.

Which has zero to do with this discussion and this topic.

I was thinking that if they remade some of the old movies, Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood would have to where clown costumes instead of Nazis.

In post 19, I was having a gentle go at the reasoning behind Prince Harry's choice of the armband. He probably didn't think through his choice of dress for the party, but it doesn't mean he has committed a major crime. A few people posting to this thread and reading this may have not known about the connection between the Nazi swastika and the existence of the symbol in previous times, so to say my post has zero, i.e. 0% relevance to the topic is incorrect.

If you want to be a stickler and pedant, I'll be a stickler and pedant back.

Touche.

Quite right. The swastika arm band is on the wrong person. It really belongs on Chuck Schumer. Also Henry Waxman, Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. There's more than a little irony in that.

That's what happens when you let germans into the British Royal Family.

The Navajos and, I believe, some other southwestern tribes, developed it independently of others. To them it symbolized the path of the hunt. The camp is the center. The cross in the middle is the way you go out. The angles at the end are the hunting paths. In this way each area is completely swept for any animals that might be there.

This goes way beyond PC

Swastika = symbol of Nazism

In a Nation like England, that suffered so greatly during WWII because of the Nazis, it is particularly offensive.

The Duke and Duchess of Windsor were outright supporters of Hitler and Nazism. That is why they were exiled and banned.

I am one that believes he is a love child from Diana's horse riding days. He ain't chucks boy

I agree. The resemblance is too uncanny. He's not only an idiot, he's also not royalty.

Until 1940, it was worn as the shoulder patch for the New Mexico National Guard. It had/has a whole different connotation for the Navajo.

"I imagine having lost his mother at a young age has clouded his judgment."

No...being the latest Royal Eurotrash anti-semite in a long line of Royal Eurotrash anti-semites accounts for it.
