Slowly... but we're headed in the right direction!!! If the direction is bilking taxpayers out of billions and billions of dollars on boondoggles.

Monorail Gets Back On Track
Now there's a headline to encourage confidence in public transportation...
I'm not an anti-public transport advocate...but having used America's
#1-rated bus line for a few years, I feel VERY sorry for anyone using relying on
the #2-rated bus line.
(That #1-rated line is The Santa Monica Blue Bus; http://wwwbigbluebus.com)

the new AirTrain system at San Francisco International Airport (snip)
It took them a long time to work all the bugs out, though.
That's called long-term employment in public transportation...

"Slowly... but we're headed in the right direction!!!" Exactly! Eventually we'll get there. Every journey, first step and all. It galls me sometimes that some people think we're doing nothing to change our energy needs while other insist we do nothing unless we can land at the very top.

"I wonder if the other event going on in Vegas at the same time had any impact."I'm sure it had an impact on the news item being written. Ford's expected to win again this year, BTW

It was also a Bombardier project, IIRC. It had a lot of problems early on, but seems to run pretty well now.

---"they" already have delusions about extending it to Cashman Field and the airport---of course if Oscar gets his baseball team , I suppose it'll have to go there--

Could be.
When we were there they had it shut down. The news said they were having trouble with all the rain. They also said they were planing a cover for the entire length of the system, some time next year. We never have tried it, we always stay down town. Been to the strip a few times, never was to impressed, I'm a small casino person, mostly i play at the Nugget or Binion's, sometimes Main St Station. My wife usually just catches a cab or a Limo when the girls go shopping.
