Did anybody catch me on WABC Radio just before the 8:00 News Break of the Curtis and Kuby show?
They were talking about political corruption in New Jersey, and whether it would be an issue in the upcoming Gubenatorial election. I came on the telephone as "John from New Jersey", and made the point (quite eloquently, I would add) that nobody cared about Mob corruption in NYC until Rudy Giuliani reframed the debate by charging that payoffs to the mob amounted to a "Mob Tax" on every transaction in the city. Bret Schundler has to demostrate to the people that political corruption in New Jersey amounts to a Mob Tax, and that this nonsense is costing us all real money.
New Jersey already has one of the highest tax rates in the country. Because of the economic effects of corruption and the amount of money that goes to pay off various politicos, there is an additional tax built into every purchase and real estate transaction.
A slam-dunk of a call, if I do say so myself. If you can't toot your own horn in a vanity post, where can you?
Well, Gridlock, you old cad. Good show!
I think I speak for Republican Landslidists everywhere, when I say that "You're da Man!"
Talkshows are fun :D I called in to CSPAN before and acted like Special ED from Crank Yankers! It about about oh 1-2 years ago... I was like The FBI... YEAAA! FBI.... YEAAA!!! they let me do it like 5 times them cut me off LOL ;)
And thanks to this "tax", Eastern Pa. is being flooded with these people.
I'm waiting for the day WABC puts somebody worth listening to in that time slot. They certainly have enough talented hosts at that station.
Are you done flogging your own vanity post through your alter egos yet?
Ron (Whose Mommy is a Commie) Kuby is not so bad these days. He's still a raving lefty, but he knows how to debate a position. I like to think that, deep down in his heart of hearts, Curtis has worn him down over the years and he doesn't really believe all that Leftist clap-trap anymore.
Just the sound of Kuby's voice makes me want to slap the crap out of him.
I truly don't know how Sliwa does it on a daily basis.
Eastern PA is being flooded with former NJ residents because it is impossible to build housing in New Jersey anymore. Unless you are connected to the right people and know who to pay and how much, you are not going to get permits for a residential development. The system is so convoluted, and you have to jump through so many regulatory hoops, it is just not worth it anymore. And at every stage, there is some bureaucrat or politician with his hand out, waiting to be greased.
Hey, it works for me, because I have an existing house that is artificially expensive because housing is so scarce an nobody can build more. But now the town wants to raise my property taxes because I'm obviously such a rich guy because I live in a $600,000 house, never mind that it was only worth $120,000 when I bought it.
Nobody wants to make that ride all the way out to the Pocanos. All that empty space between Parsippany and the Water Gap would have houses on it, if anybody could get the permits. But they can't, because they don't have an in.
Curtis just signed a new contract for big bucks. I don't know how much they would have to pay me to work with Ron Kuby on a daily basis, but the check would surely have a lot of zeroes...
Yup. You go West from Philly, and you have all of that development and all that traffic. You go East into NJ, and you have potato fields and empty land. The only reason that development is not happening in NJ is because nobody but a select few are allowed to build in NJ, and half those guys are in jail.
Heard you. Good call.
I heard you on my commute into the city. That was an excellent call.
severe vanity excused. One day I called Rush Limbaugh and stumped him.....you could tell he didn't know diddly about Washington's Farewell Address.......I wanted to tell everybody without telling everybody.
Great point, BTW.
I wish Schundler the best, but unfortunately I don't think he can prevail against the Corzine machine. Maybe I'll be surprised and Corzine will be the target of people's anger at the political corruption.
Too bad they cut me off before I could say "FReepers Rule!"
