Since there is no such thing as the "Lord" (except in one's imagination), President Bush is clearly wrong.
Mr. President, you are spot on in that regard.
I am expecting a Linda Blair response from the Libs over this one. Get your Holy Water ready.
The left prefers nuance (as in blowing in the wind or standing for nothing or standing for what temporarily may be popular), no wonder they hate him.
He runs circles around them while they fret.
God Bless him.
GO BUSH!! He says what others are afraid to say, women have no place in combat!
I voted for him and believe he is doing the right thing about the war we are in.
But he is no Ronald Reagan, and he makes me dislike him when he does his Rockefeller/Javits/Pataki schtick, as well as his Jerry Falwell/Pat Robertson/Charles Colson schtick.
He has had wonderful speech writers and wonderful advisers who have guided him in wonderful ways. And his instincts on defense issues have been wonderful.
But no intelligent man says what he said here, if that is what he said.
Folks may not always agree with George w. Bush, but he is convicted, and has the courage of a lion.
That scares the libs TO DEATH.
"After the Declaration of Independence was signed, Virginia statesman John Page wrote to Thomas Jefferson: ``We know the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. Do you not think an angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm?''
Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inauguration. The years and changes accumulate. But the themes of this day he would know: our nation's grand story of courage and its simple dream of dignity.
We are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose. Yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.
Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every life.
This work continues. This story goes on. And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.
God bless you all, and God bless America.George W. Bush January 20th, 2001
"The paper plans at least 3 stand alone stories."
Equals three hit pieces on the way!
BTTT
I'm very pleasantly surprised.
MM
I agree with the Prez on both opinions.
Take that ACLU
Boy that get Democratic underground doofs and ACLU butts in crawl LOL!!
How can you not love GW? The man is direct, to the point and above all... has real faith.
I can respect that, even as an atheist.
"I think people attack me because they are fearful that I will then say that you're not equally as patriotic if you're not a religious person,"
They must be confusing Bush with his dad, who actually did say that. And this American, apparently incapable of being patriotic because he doesn't believe, fought in a war under that twit.
"...see how you can be President without a relationship with the Lord."
I love the way you never have to wonder what W means when he says something. It just kills the Dems!
Personally I adore mr. President.
But I think that to be President you don't need any reletionship with heaven. That's what my grand-grand-grand parents believed during the middle-ages: that a king is blessed from the heaven. Today it's not so.
Because we have the reason.
Anyway, I will continue to adore Mr. Bush.
