got an email from him (not personally to all CFG members) saying to watch for the fireworks. He's going to defend the Bush SS plan against ARP.

This was his email:

Real quickly, I wanted to let you know that if I can get out of traffic (I’m stuck in New York City right now) I’ll be on PBS’s Newshour with Jim Lehrer later tonight. The show will air at either 6pm or 7pm, depending on your location so be sure to check your local listings.

On the show, I’ll be debating David Certner, AARP’s Director of Federal Affairs, about Social Security reform. It’s going to be a battle between the pro-growth, free-market ideals of the Club against the misguided, outdated beliefs of the AARP so I hope you can tune in to watch.

Finally, in the days and weeks ahead, I’m going to continue to introduce myself to you, the Club members. I firmly believe that with so many important issues at stake, we have the ability to make history. With your help, the Club can make a lasting pro-growth impact on our country.

Best Regards,

Pat

The plan has not yet been written, how can they debate it?

it was over whether private accounts is a good idea. AARP wants to raise taxes and deny young workers a private account and keep forcing them into a socialistic system that gives them 0% interest on their money.
