Just now saw Paula Zahn interviewing Thornburgh and the other guy on CNN. The spin is dizzying. There is a major rehabilitation effort underway here. The firings are generating martyrs. This all stems from the fact that they will not give the slightest intimation that the documents were gross, or even probable, phonies. They fall back on the process concept. They didn't properly authenticate. They rushed. By doing this, they are implicitly pushing the idea that the documents were genuine underneath it all. Proof of this: Thornburgh, by way of saying they "rushed" starts out, "From the time the documents were discovered and presented to CBS ..." ( close to that . ) Right there, here's declaring them genuine by saying the were "discovered" and then "presented" to CBS. It's very clear.

Fired or not, at least he's retiring under a dark cloud. More than anything else in his career, Memogate will be what is most remembered.

It is 50% if you don't take it out to the decimal. Then it would be 50.xx to 49.xx.

I say he can keep his job if he (a) gives an on-air apology to George Bush (b) tells us what the frequency is, and (c)admits he wears ladies underwear. (even if he doesn't)
To: Roscoe Karns
And he must say, "NI!" after every show's opening credits.

He deserved a firing squad decades ago, during the monopoly years when he learned such arrogance. It's not perfect, but Rather being fired is still pretty great. Maybe it'll make him suicidal?

It has been announced that some extra ballots were found behind the server and "No" now has taken the lead in the manual recount.
