This is very encouraging, let's hope it keeps up. Props to US and British troops, either way, they're doing the best job they can in the face of very difficult circumstances.
This bolsters the theory that the insurgents are receiving advice and training from the French.
I hope "launcher" refers to a person...
I whole-heartedly approve of the proposed "death squads". Kill 1st in war, ask questions of the cadaver's relatives later.
Excellent post; excellent points. Bump.
BH, I sure hope this is a trend, leading to the permanent elimination of the subhuman filth killing US Troops, before the Iraqi elections.
bttt!!
We have been killing terrorists from all the countries in the area, not just Iraqis....and we will continue to take the fight to them over there, not over here....
There are so many weapons chaches in Iraq its surprising the whole country doesnt explode. Did Saddam do anything besides buy and bury weapons?
***An Iraqi civilians call to a tips hotline led Iraqi policemen to a rocket launch site in Baghdad. The Iraqi policemen disassembled the launcher and destroyed the explosives.***
According The World Factbook, on the CIA website, there were 675,000 phone lines and 20,000 cellphones in Iraq prior to the invasion.
I think it would be very helpful on fighting the insurgency if we made sure many more Iraqis had phone lines. That way, they could report any suspicious activity as it happens, and not have to leave the security of their home. I may be suggesting something that is already underway, if anyone knows otherwise, please fill me in!
Send this to CBS. Oh wait... never mind.
Im not trying to rain on this parade, but I think something should be mentioned here. The word I get is that the majority of captured insurgents arent held for long or even aggressively interrogated. I agree that the insurgency is failing or at least well on its way to failing, but the amount of people captured is barely a contributing factor.
Thanks for the good news! (Nobody else reports it...)
The sad thing is when we have a day like this it isn't mentioned. One must go to Centcom, Free republic or Multinational forces webpage to get the scoop. If these subhumans launch a quasi successful offensive it gets wall to wall coverage giving the illusion we are in deep trouble. This is the media of today. Think long term and realize we will win.
"Captured"?
There are 30 IED attacks a day. While I appreciate the cache haul, it needs to be kept in perspective.
bump! for later read.
How exactly do you sustain an insurgency among a largely hostile population and no good supply lines?
The best guess is that they are getting all their supplies from ammo dumps that aren't getting replaced. They are running a nonsustainable campaign.
Sure, they'll be able to smuggle in a few arms from surrounding countries once the ammo dumps are destroyed or used up. But at that point, it's hard to see how the insurgency will be much more than an annoying bunch of rock-throwers.
It is a good post, but could you clean it up a bit. Maybe you could write it in WORD first, and maybe show web links to support your point. Your excellent points would be clearer if this didn't read like a draft copy. Thanks and please don't think I mean to be harsh.
