Gov.-elect says the voters never got to know her
OLYMPIA After 12 years as attorney general, Christine Gregoire spent more than a year and $6 million to tell voters why she should be their next governor.
There was a constant stream of television commercials showing everything from her as a tot on a pony to her position on stem-cell research.
But even before the race ended in a dead heat with Republican Dino Rossi, it was clear an important message had been lost.
"I don't think in the end voters ever really got to know Chris Gregoire."
...
"I'm a mom. I'm a spouse. I'm a breast-cancer survivor. I came from very humble beginnings. I'm the first in my family to have gone to college. And I'll bet most people don't know much of any of that today."
More whine available here.

I know enough about Gregoire to know that I'm not confident that she can effectively run the state in an honest and fair manner.

"I don't think in the end voters ever really got to know Chris Gregoire." She keeps making excuses for her loss, even though she gets the office.

WOW!
Do you think she left out the part about being a election stealing, money grubbing left wing socialist, and overall liberal idiot, on purpose?

But the voters all know you now-- as a lying, cheating, partisan hack who will do anything to obtain and hold political power. Congratulations!

But even before the race ended in a dead heat with Republican Dino RossiThe race didn't end in a dead heat - - Rossi won. Twice.
Then Gregoire and the Democrats stole it. So now the voters know Gregoire - - she's a scumbag.
To: edsheppa
My son, and his liberal girlfriend DO know her. That's why they both voted for Rossi, to my surprise and delight.
The liberal GF told me that she's afraid the Repubs are going to chicken out on contesting the election. Life is full of surprises.

There's wide agreement that Gregoire needs to act decisively and not like someone who barely won.
So, Bush wins by a huge margin and he has no mandate and must compromise. Gregorie wins by a questionable 129 votes and she must act decisively. I'm going to barf.

I just got back from the grocery store.
When I picked up the paper (with this as the headline story) i started laughing out loud!
The lady in line behind me asks what I'm laughing about, and I point to GreGore's picture and say "I wonder how long it'll be before she's talking about her alien love child?"
The lady didn't look too pleased!
Whatta putz!

I think the problem is that people REALLY DID know ChristINE Gregoire. She was the one who wanted us all to forget what an inept Attorney General she was, and how she wasted millions of taxpayer dollars by forgetting to file appeals to cases she lost in time.
She decided to cover her tracks and not have Christine (Screwup) Gregoire run, by running "Chris" Gregoire. As stupid as many voters are, they probably thought "Chris" was a man, a totally different person. In other words, they DID know Christine, it's "Chris" they didn't know.

She had to have been a really bad candidate in order for this election to have been close. I'm not sure it's a bad thing to give Washington state more of what they want.
When the last corporation there is Starbucks, maybe they'll figure it out.

I knew plenty about Gregoire.
She proved what she could do in elected office as Attorney General, and I wasn't impressed.
To: edsheppa
She forgot the most important line:
This is Bush's fault... This is Bush's fault... This is Bush's fault... And I believe that the Bunny wearing a pancake should be the new symbol of a strong state of Washington AND MY LEGACY.
Important dribble and whining not there...

I think a woman running as 'Chris' suggests something else about her...think women in comfortable shoes.
She's not, to my knowledge, but why give that impression unless you need a new identity.
