Yup, I'd call that rascist.
Hmmm... I do find it pretty funny, but I do acknowledge that it'd be racist if it mocked a black stereotype. (Unless the mock-ee was Condi Rice, of course.)
That old man in Boondocks is the wisest one and does have some sense. He's protrayed as being at peace with himself whereas that main character is perpetually angry and unhappy. I wonder if this is a subconcious acknowledgement of the truth.
Should we mug him to get those neat tennis shoes.
Now that is racist.
Pretty funny actually ..Lighten up ..I've seen some Kerry speedo types in my neighborhood jogging in the freezing cold in their designer gym shorts ..
Let's see...
Two black people standing around doing nothing, ridiculing a hard-working white person.
Yup. That's pretty racist. I wonder if the author understands what it's really saying.
Maybe he does and that's the message.
Lighten up guys, you sound like a bunch of young buck deer standing in a clearing holding a pissing contest while complaining about the unfairness of high-powered rifles and opposable thumbs.
Lighten up, everyone. Boondocks can be funny when it deals with black/white people.
Politically and personally he's an idiot, but I have to laugh at some of the strips he does.
That's pretty bad. It's not as bad as some he's done but still par for McGruder-- which is bad. I'm not surprised, though.
What's more surprising is why McGruder and his syndicate would decide to slack off by creating a one-panel joke (that could run easily as a daily) for what is normally supposed to be a multi-panel, full-color Sunday comic.
If you want to get ticked off at McGruder look at the strips concerning Condi Rice. It doesn't help anybody to be overly sensitive.
LOL! You could always tell who was who on the runways at Minot or Grand Forks AFB. The guys with pale skin would be wearing a watchcap with their parka hood down. Folks with a better tan tended to tighten the hood up into a snorkel. I think the reference to cold weather operational capability may be generally valid.
