Winchester continues its reputation as a wedding mecca in Virginia.
Linda Tripp, who caught the nation's attention during the Monica Lewinsky episode of President Clintons second term, came to the Winchester Circuit Clerks office to obtain a marriage license Dec. 30.
I asked her if she was THE Linda Tripp and she said yes, reported Will Gardner, deputy clerk of the court.
I was curious about how many people could have that name, Gardner said. He didnt recognize her physically but did remember the name when he was typing up the license.
Gardner said she seemed a little anxious once he asked about her identity.
Both bride and groom, Dieter Hermann, were cordial to the staff at the clerks office and wished them a happy holiday before trekking across the street to the Valley Wedding Chapel at 201 E. Boscawen St.
Gary Patterson,co-owner of the chapel for 10 years with his wife, Sherry, did not recognize her nor the name. When he took the license to the clerks office, they told him who she was.
When they brought it my attention, I thought Wow.
She looked familiar to Patterson but he couldnt figure out where he had seen her before.
The couple really wanted to get married and said they were in love, Patterson added.
They came walking up when I was putting the closed sign on the door and asked if they were too late, Patterson said.
They purchased the stripped-down model, $30 wedding, that takes about three minutes, Patterson said. There were no pictures and no one else came with them.
The couple said they will have a religious ceremony later in the year.
Sherry Patterson also didnt recognize Tripp or even the name. I write so many names that hers didnt click.
Sherry is planning an all out campaign to get celebrities to come to the chapel to be married. With the services available here for private planes, she feels it would be a great location for those wanting a quick marriage.
Were contacting a publicist in Beverly Hills to sell the idea of coming to Winchester to be married, Sherry said.
Dang. I hate when people do that and I just did it!
Perhaps you should leave it now.
The harranging nature of your posts may embarass you further.
My opinion is that I do not trust Politicians.
Yours is that anybody that does not trust Bush implicitly and without questions is the spawn of Satan.
Have you read the list of dead people associated with the clintoons? It is pretty stunning
No probs.
You were one of the polite ones!
Everyone is going mad but I only asked questions on this thread out of ingorance and have been enlightened.
Some people have/are being very offensive and do this board a real disservice as most people here are real decent folks.

Yeh.
Not too sure about it all.
If Bush actively pursued this through the courts then I would have more faith in the claims.
You are not the first person to point this out today.
In fact you are about the Fiftieth.
I do not understand why people reply to posts from days ago without checking the latest ones out first.
I always read the first one, get a bit angry, then read the rest of them. this is recommended as it has stopped me putting my foot in it time and time again.
Surfed and searched: nothing, nada, ziltch. I'm shocked.
PS please feel free to reply ad nauseum.
I will not be able to reply until tommorow evening UK time (so in about 28 hours)
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ACTUALLY READ MY POSTS BEFORE CALLING ME A SATANIC CLINTON SUPPORTING COMMUNIST
That makes two of us.
Don't put words in my mouth or tell me what I think!
You're the one that has a problem.
Accusing our President falsely is one of your problems.
If you don't trust politicians - that's your problem - and so is saying something stupid without giving it some thought is another one of your problems.
She was a gracious lady, still a little tentative and nervous at that time, but she gave a heartfelt and informative speech to the multitude of Freepers assembled.
Linda is deserving of some happiness now......she unselfishly gave the conservative cause much happiness with her testimony at that time.
BTW, does anyone have a pic of the groom? You know we ladies are dying to see what he looks like.
Leni
Thanks for the tip. I'll cherish it. I'll try to be more like you. Please forgive me.
Don't put words in my mouth or tell me what I think!
...........................................................
You are the one that camein shouting.
Your point (if you have one) would be better made if you
A) Read all the posts made first
B) Think about them
C) Think about them some more
D) Re-read the posts
E) Not reply to the first post made days ago but the last
one made minutes ago.
I have not accused the President of killing anyone.
I merely stated that I would not be incredibly surprised.
I like and support Bush but hold him to be a politician not the Messiah.
: )
I went right into explaining the background as I knew it and I am surprised at how many people here understood that part about the grand jury testimony and how she had to do what she did. I only heard this part in the media once and I heard it on talk radio. I've been an avid Freeper and newshound for years and I am shocked at how rarely that whole angle was ever brought to light.
I am surprised at info revealed here. It has changed my opinions of the woman massively.
I am glad that some people take ignorance to be a factor of the MSM rather than a sign of the devil.
I should specify that the part I didn't hear much about was how Tripp got drafted into this whole mess. That is, the Jones people found out about Tripp seeing Willey - from a magazine interview and she got called to testify. She wasn't jumping up and down saying, "I'll tell on him! I know stuff!!"
