I believe ghosts are not actual spirits, but residual energy. Nightline had a real interesting program a couple years ago that showed science providing evidence that energy does remain after we die.

However, I do believe that poltergeists and apparitions etc. are demons.

I do not claim to know what EVP is....could be demons, could be that residual energy or the dead somehow reaching through this dimension.

So true. I bet if they researched a bit, they would find that there has been or is, some kind of occult activity there or nearby

Allow me a purely scientific point here, even though I do believe in God and I am a strong Christian. Physics tells us that energy can change forms, but does not just disappear. We know there is energy within our bodies which is essentially our personality. It's what keeps our heart beating and our brain working. It's what we are. When we die, there is really no energy there at all. We know it did not dissipate or "evaporate" because the laws of physics tell us that this is not possible. What happened to it?

"Absent from the body, present with the Father" They're demons. No doubt about it, IMHO.

There was a show on the Discovery channel called "A Haunting in Georgia"

It was about a young girl that started to experience phenomena that scared them.

They contacted priests, psychics, etc, and most all agreed something strange was going on.

As part of the investigation, they brought in a local college scientist type, who set up all sorts of electical monitoring equipment.

The show was quite lengthy, and he was interviewed quite a few times. During all his interviews, he would blather on about electrical fields, gravity, psychological effects, etc. etc. He certainly made his case that he didn't in any way shape or form believe in ghosts or spirits.

Finally, in the last two minutes of the show, he has his last interview, and he says "We are forced to believe that after someone dies SOMETHING RESIDUAL REMAINS"

Totally blew me away when he finally admitted what others have felt for years. And quite alternative-open minded to have DC even ait the show.

IANAC, but didn't Jesus say something like "I am not a ghost" after the resurrection? Of course, he didn't go on to say what ghosts actually WERE, but it seems he acknowledged their existence.

I'm a skeptic but I do believe that ghosts exist --- that's not the mystery. The mystery is what they are. And it's not anything science could ever prove one way or the other.
