Joe Kennedy had a very 'European' attitude toward women, and passed it down to his sons. Woman were there for their pleasure, and you didn't have to limit yourself to just one, even if you ended up getting married.

He had very 'European' attitudes about other things as well. When he was Ambassador to the Court of St. James (England), he was good friends with Edward, the Duke of Windsor and the Duchess of Windsor, and they were all very 'tolerant' of the Nazis.

correct.

according to schwartz, fdr grew very worried about joe's nazi sympathies and had a spy report to him about joe's doings in great britain.
