Kid Rock Rocks... I have seen him live twice... He is an American BadA$$ that supports the troups as well.
Kid and Hank Williams have been touring together...
Kid has gone overseas and performed for our troups many times. He went with the USO and I saw him on tv in Germany giving performances and hanging with the troups... He picked up a guitar at a local pub and jammed for a couple of hours... The troups loved it.
Conservative Christians more than most should not mind this performer. Evidently he is a Bush supporter and not all of his material is made up of what Conservative Christians would be offended about.
God at times took the worst examples of humanity and remolded them to work toward His good.
God finds Christians/people where they are at, and all are sinners.
So if Republicans find supporters where they are at, why hold Republicans to a higher standard that God?
I think Kid Rock will be reasonable, have a discussion of what will be sung before he performs and won't feature the wild side of his work at all.
Pushing people away doesn't seem real Christian and comes off as a very myopic thinking and rather stuck up. (Almost humanism in fact).
We are to love the sinner, don't tolerate the sin.
I suspect he won't be cussing or being crass on stage at all.
Thanks!
Up and down that lonely road of faith I have been there Unprepared for the storms and the tides that rise Ive realized one thing, how much I love you And it hurts to see, see you cryin I believe we can make it through the winds of change God is great indeed If you believe, in the everlife Yeah we gotta Make some sense of the piece thats not defined And if you just hold on, I wont let ya fall We can make it through the storms and the winds of change Though I walk through the valley of darkness I am not afraid Cause I know Im not alone And if the wind blows east, would you follow me And if the wind blows north, would ya stay your course And if the wind blows west, would ya second guess And if it blows to the south, would you count me out And if the sun dont shine, would you still be mine And if the sky turns grey, would you walk away Would you say I do, if I say Ill be And walk this road through life with me You know I love youuuuuu On this lonely road of faith On this lonely road of faith
While you are at it, why not supply us with a long list of ex drug dealers and murderers that went into the ministry?
You can find some working for TBN and other places and it seems God found them to without people going overboard about their past.
The world will survive and perhaps Kid will be better off for it as well.
PS: Not a fan by the way.
Aren't they part of The Outlaws with Gretchen Wilson, Montgomery Gentry and Big and Rich?
First off - prissy religious types should back off. Kid Rock helped mobilize a lot of metal heads and punbk types for GWB, including myself. He is Pro-America and should be commended. Yeah he curses, but who doesn't????
Second, I woulds prefer Slayer over Metallica. Slayer is more true to itself and much more aggresive.
I wish the Pentagon would allow or permit Slayer to perform the following right before our guyts go into combat:
1. War Ensemble
2. Payback is a B^&&%
3. WarZone
4. Die by the Sword
5. Reign in Blood
SSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLlAAAAAAAYEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't you see him singing that with the Bush Twins nearby?
He's not a religious conservative, he's more of a trailer-park conservative, but he's definitely on the right.
Isn't about who got who re-elected.
It is that the man isn't perfect, is known to have a conservative side and is actually quite patriotic.
As Christians know, God has used the morally low of the low to do great things.
I think nobody here is without sin, and the same goes for Kid, but he does have a following.
So, let him sing, don't expect him to select bad music from his songs, and the performance will be fine.
If anything, he might bring more people into the Republican tent.
I think as people are brought from outside the Republican tent, they are slightly if not greatly more open to listen to what it is all about and great changes for people in their lives can be made politically as Christianity does for our Spiritual life.
I think it will all work out.
I have no worries here.
You are right chris1, and this issue doesn't reflect the problem of Kid and company performing, but the problem of some who claim they are Christians in their famous all or nothing suicidal political mode.
This is very much the same approach that lost conservatism most of the abortion battles IMO.
The correct long-termed desired end result by Christians, but a whacked out wrong approach to make the desired change. Nothing new about it.
Good job. A little different from his earlier lyrics, I'd say. Maybe the smut police don't want to read this lyric.
I'm not sure... I have been so busy with school and work that I don't pay attention anymore. I grew up on Hank and have seen him many times... It would be great to see Hank and the Kid together...
Sorry for my previous reply... I didn't read your previous post earlier.
The point is, as Rush says, do you want to win or not?
Kid Rock, although I don't care for his music, is a patriotic rockers who appeals to the middle class and lower middle class Americans like myself.
As I stated, Slayer is preferred to Metallica since Metallica really went corporate whereas Slayer stayed true to itself and is far more aggresive and lethal.
The GOP needs more Kid Rocks, not more religious types. We already have as many religious types as we are going to get.
I agree that getting performers who appeal to a wanted cross section is great.
What do you think going corprate is, and how is that a problem? Just to clarify what you mean.
