I think y'all are missing the real point here, though.

Fat Teddy sees himself as truly above it all. He really does. The Kennedy family has bought into the myth; they're American royalty, donchaknow.

He feels that America has forgotten that "unfortunate incident" lo those many years ago, so allie-allie-outs-in-free. He's untouchable. The MSM will certainly NEVER mention it ever again (he's a Kennedy; he's their boy).........so he can make such outrageously crass, jaw-droppingly cold comments with impunity.

Anyone with a conscience wouldn't have said what he did. Hell, anyone with a conscience would have resigned from politics (at least) over what he did to that poor young woman.

Loved you cornering Michael Isikoff yesterday at the hearing to point out how bizarre it was for Ted Kennedy to attack Gonzales on the inhumanity of using pseudo drowning as a method of torture.

I thought of you this morning when Ann made the same observation to Imus. Imus didn't believe her at first, that Kennedy, or his brilliant staff, would let him single out drowning as the instrument of torture that Kennedy zeroed in on in his questioning. Ann told him to have the MSNBC staff contact her, she would provide the tape.

About 10 minutes after Ann's segment ended, Imus played the video tape of Kennedy questioning Gonzales. Priceless!! Kennedy was almost mocking Gonzales for not recognizing the agony a person would experience when thinking they were drowning. Imus said Kennedy just kept on digging himself deeper into a hole, and he was right.

(and just as an unrelated aside, I found it equally appalling that this morning on TODAY, Katie Curok was so sympathetic to Andrea Yates but made no mention of the babies which Yates intentionally drowned. All within 24 hours, we get proof how twisted our values can sometimes be, at least as the culture views them from the mainstream media.)

Imus tried to fix Ann up with Craig Crawford, and Ann played along, but first she said, she needed to see his W-2 form and know how tall he was. Even Imus' sidekicks knew Ann would never have anything to do with that girlieman.

Imus started a discussion about how political opposites like James Carville and Mary Matalin could peacefully co-exist in a marriage, and Ann brilliantly pointed out they are professional consultants, (in other words they do what they do for money), and they could switch sides and be just as persuasive. (In other words, consultants are whores...my interpretation.) !.

Ann reminded Imus that he forgot to mention her first best seller, "High Crimes and Misdemeanors". Imus had been blasting Star Jones for riding Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman to success, so Ann said, I guess you could say I rode Bill Clinton the same way, and all on the show agreed, slug that Clinton was, that was ok for her to do.
